A WARNING TO F-LIST USERS (partial rant, partial warning)

Okay- so I've been discovering that MANY people on F-List are using my art for their characters.
I dislike this- and I will tell you all why: They are claiming that the art in the picture is theirs, when its not. They are stealing someone else's identity and appearance for their own fetish use.
I have had people tell me (in notes or otherwise) Oh, aren't you interested in 'INSERT FETISH HERE'? I saw your character on f list and it was on your list of likes!
This has happened to me multiple times.
When someone takes the art that you paid for and created, and says "this is me!" and then proceeds to use said image/character idea with their own fantasies, it feels very violating.
Another example: I don't like diapers and scat fantasies. I've seen people on f list using my character and art, and putting them in diaper/scat/watersport situations- three things that i AM NOT into. I feel disgusted knowing that my image is being associated with this and it feels like my character has not only been stolen from me, but is also being abused.
Am I an asshole for this? Probably. But it's my choice to act like this, and I have a reason for acting like this. So I'd ask that people understand my thoughts on the matter.
So, if I see art of my character on F-List, will I report it? I most certainly will. There have also been some very kind folks who let me know now and then when they see my art being stolen over there- and I will go and check things out.
But guess what? I'm not going 100% asshole on this. Some of the profiles on flist that I see, I let go. And do you know why?
Because they state, either in pic descriptions, or on their page, that the character art is not theirs and/or that their fetishes are not necessarily the fetishes of the char in the pic.
That's all it takes to avoid my ire. As long as you let people know that the art is not yours, OR you ask me for permission (which one person has, and which I granted), then I don't care at all. I will just say "hey, please just put up a note that the original char that this art depicts isnt into this stuff" and that's it.
I will continue to keep my eye on F-List. And the mods there are quite diligent in dealing with these issues quickly (they're very professional).

It's respectless 'n a real pain in the ass to have the pics taken down again considering some pages administrators...
Not to mention that some of the users who already took your art also act like goddamn assholes if you ask them to take it down...

I'm not TOO concerned about all of this though- I'm sure there are folks out there using my character for their stuff and I don't know about it. But there's nothing I can do about that (except go looking for them and I don't care THAT much about this issue XD)
but yeah, if you wanna keep a lookout, and/or browse flist and let me know when something comes up, I'd appreciate it :)
But the way I think, is not the way other people think. In fact, if you are the type of person to just let it slide off your back, then you probably live a more stress free life than folks like me XD
Now if someone named their character Case or Caisson or claimed to be the owner of the artwork, that would be a totally different story.
What I find is that 9/10 times people using mine or other's artwork don't do so maliciously, they just find them on image boards and decide to use them, not even knowing who the owner is.

In fact I was working on a few scenes earlier in the year. But too many RL issues have been distracting me, so I'm not sure it'll ever get finished...
Nintendo (or rare, or whoever made krystal) probably has the right to crack down on people using their char, but they either don't care or don't want to go through all the trouble since there's so much usage of their character.
My situation is much smaller, I can do something about it, and I don't mind going through the trouble of reporting. And I actually care.
On the note of the CoC clone joke though, wouldn't you care if someone swiped the code for it, and changed just the bit where it says "by fenoxo" to "by someone else"? If I were in your shoes, I would.
I don't see a problem with using a character's appearance and name for whatever twisted shit you're into - for example someone wanting to RP an Urta that's crazy into watersports/scat I wouldn't really care about. Claiming that they own or created the art though is a bit skeevy for sure.
I'm not sure if you've done this, heard about this, or were told about this, but F-List has a thingie nowadays called "Verified." What you do is send a form thingie to F-List saying "these pictures depict my character, this is my character," and then they put a "VERIFIED" marker on your F-List profile, basically stating that you're the real person.
This isn't a super solution of course, but it is one thing you can do to let people know you're the genuine deal.

I understand that some people that have no skill for art sort of get the raw end when they try to be "creative" but they should at least give credit where credit is due.
I can't say I've been famous enough to warrant many posers, only had a few imitators (this pretty much only with my gallary art stuff) I can somewhat relate to the stealing of art an ideas. If its art that truely represents you, its like the are screwing with your heart and soul!
Admirable that you are allowing those poor uncreative people to keep using your pics when they don't claim ownership of em, many people in your position just shut it all down. I've seen artists/writers in tantrums over this, it's terrible to steal art or an OC and lie about creating or owning it, but quite another thing to copy a pic and use it as a placeholder for a different OC of similar appearance.

Its harmless if somes just using the pic as just a little reference to pretty up their RP profile. Using their own name and description of their character.
But if the pics are taken, and actual info; name, b-day, personal info is taken and used, then its serious.
Kadath and Artica have had their characters "literally " ripped off
Most people just want a pretty picture to attract RP partners to their Profile. And most people prefer a pretty visual, morphed around abit to fit the description, instead of just a description by itself.

Everyones different, Im a little less attached to my characters, so I'd be more amused if I saw users on the Super Kinky Cub, Rape, Hyper, Inflation, Micro/Macro, Diaper, and Toilet Hole F-list has become using my characters for such adventures.
But I still wouldnt like it myself if said person tried to claim ownership of the character when its not theirs. And Ive seen serious cases where both pic, AND accurate info where used.

Ill never know how awkward it will be to be approached by kinks I dont have and inform the person they RPd with an imposter since Im pretty underground and keep to myself.
I'm not sure if I'm still on F-List or not. (I signed up years ago, but with everything that's happened between now and then, I've lost my login name and password. So my account probably got nuked for inactivity or something anyway, hehe).

Personally, I might allow it for some people, if they would ask first.
They don't.
And then they try to pass it off as theirs.
Which feels rude, honestly speaking, especially when people who own/draw/etc said characters don't even get credit.
So yes, I don't think you could ever be considered an asshole for that.
F-list is like as low as a site can go, though. at least judging by the habits of a not small group of it's users.
