sadly i've actually been booted from a raffle or YCH because despite i do Not resemble Flammie.(and i do take a lil pride like Lucca, am rather unique :3) we're still basing off Mana Dragons which Are indeed copyrighted by SquareEnix. so kinda in the same boat.

I totally didn't thought about people whom happen to have series-based characters. It was my intention to ban random fanart for the YCH (because I want to draw *characters* of people, not "random epic official-series-monsters here", because I made some bad experiences with my dA account regarding the fanart-watchers. Uuuuuhm.)
But of course series based characters/fursonas are still characters. I’ll make sure to change this rule for the next YCH here free-thing as it wasn't my intention to bann people with such characters. Thanks for pointing this out! >< )

it's allright and understandable. i nearly got in hotwater on dA tey back then didnt care shit about game screenshots aslong as Copywright was onscreen(this was great for FFXI players and these days XIV players as offical screenshots bare at the bottom copywright info) till one person complained enough that dA staffnuked my whole gallery and warne dme "post one again and i will be banned" so what favs i had left i removed and pretty much closed the account.

dA is a a place full of hypocrites anyways ._.

I'm so sorry - I was a member of dA for 5 years and am used to their community. I totally forgot that a lot of Furrys tend to use "copyrighted characters" as their fursonas! I'll make sure to change the rules for the next YCH-free-thing! :<
(What I meant to do with this rule was that I don’t want to draw a tons of "fanart porn" because back on dA almost all of my watchers watched me for a single Renamon Dress up game or general Digimon fanart Uu Nobody cared for the characters I drew! xD That's why I avoid (to draw) fanart now - BUT if it is a fursona of somebody it still should count as a character - rather than a "random fanart" :> So I would be okay with a character based upon a copyrighted series. Of coruse the spot is taken now, but Ill make sure to change that for the future. Thanks for pointing this out :> )

I can totally understand the reasons of a rule like that, don't worry, and don't change your feelings only to make someone else than you happy ! The most important thing for an artist is the inspiration! And if copyrighted characters don't fit your excitement, that would turn in bad art production x333, you just do awesome drawings =3
