I decided I want to learn to draw.. o3o

I've been admiring all of you artists here on FA for so long, and I really want to give drawing a shot..
I'm really, really nervous about this, to be completely honest.
I have a hard time dealing with failure. .__.
But, I will try my best to practice, and not think of things as "failures".
More as.. "experiments"? Iunno, haha.
So, for my very first experiment, I tried to draw this photo of myself: [Real life ref].
I know it's not very good, but here is my attempt: [Oh gawd, why?]
I'm not sure how everyones' first attempts look, but I'm pretty alright with mine.. >w<
(Also, mouths. WHAT DO!?)
My mate will be showing me teaching me some along the way, but I'd love to hear any tips or tricks you guys have picked up that you'd like to share. ^^;
