this is a petition that is trying to prevent the medical community form continuing to circumzise children at birth and will require them to wait till the infant reaches a legal age of consent.

These ritualistic 'covenants' are not medical in nature, and can't be reversed when the child is older. When the child grows up and can make his own decision, however, the decision and covenant would be his to make.
Neither a piercing or a tattoo should be done to a baby. It should be decided by the person, him self, if HE choses to do it.
In short - I'm not against circumcision all together... Just only when it's done to a minor, against his will, or to a little baby.
CIRCUMCISION FOR NON-CONSENTING MALES (AND YES, NON CONSENTING FEMALES TOO) IS WRONG!!!
the arguement MAY get tricky surrounding Jewish/Orthodox tenets and religious practices and traditions that go back thousand-of-years but outside those... absolutely, its a practice much-more-common in the contiguous-american states than it has been even in the last 100 years anywhere else 'outside'/'overseas'
