Oh my goooooood /frustrated
12 years ago
I am so angry at my body right now. So fucking angry.
I overworked it, I think, and got some sort of twinge.. like a pinch or something in my inner elbow. And after a few more days of work it's gotten worse, to if I hold my arm a certain way it twinges. To where if I try to draw. It fucking twinges. I am literally 100% done with everything right now.
I can't even put it into words. Just. /aggressive sighing
I've taken ibuprofen and I'm hoping it'll make it go away enough to draw a little but as is, I know if I DO spend all day drawing (like planned) it'll only make the thing worse. /rests forehead in hand
I have no idea how long it'll take for my arm to heal and this thing to go away. I do know I work a full 10 hour shift tomorrow though. That if I don't take advantage and rest it as much as possible it'll hurt all day tomorrow and who knows how much worse it'll be the next. How fucked up my arm might end up if I don't give this thing a chance to go away.
I could literally cry with frustration right now.

I slept last night with my arm carefully positioned in a way it wouldn't hurt--and elevated for half the night too. I shoulda taken some ibuprofen before bed last night but I thought a couple hours rest it'd be better and I'd just be gentle with it today and bam! gone.
I haven't had so much luck so far. orz
God the last thing I want to do is go to the doctors
Hopefully the resting thing will w ork for me too though ;o;
But keep your elbow rested. Hope you feel better
I'm not entirely sure if I am on any sort of health plan.. I could barely afford a check up at the moment without it. @3@;;;;
So if there IS a problem chances are I couldn't pay for it. And certainly not worth going to just be told I need to rest.
I just hope it can go away on its own ;.;
Thank you hun /hug
The ibuprofen has seemed to help. I can move it around without twinging and now it just feels more like a sore muscle. /thank goodness I hope it helps it go away completely
I some how messed up my thumb by drawing a lot in a short period of time, hahah. But it's p. much better now, just pops out of place if I sleep on it.
At work, maybe you could try to discreetly take it a little easier/slower than normal and maybe mention to someone that your arm is hurting you lately and you want to be careful. They will be more understanding if they know ahead of time (prevention) vs. suddenly coming in with a horrible arm (you not being able to do normal work until you heal). I don't know what your job is, but try to team lift or take turns lifting.
It might be troublesome, but you could try to ask advice from family members on what to do about insurance. Just waiting and kind of hoping the pain will go away usually doesn't work, it seems to get worse until you're really kicking yourself. I think it's better to get help from a doctor when it's in the early stages before something pops and you need more expensive/longer treatment.
Lastly, when you do art or are sitting at the computer, you should try to get up frequently to give your body a break (ex: slouching makes your shoulders pinch). I know it seems weird to say taking it easy will hurt you. But for example, my hip hurt at work from walking so much, I was afraid and pretended I was over exaggerating until it got to the point it popped every step. I thought I needed to sit for long periods of time to rest, but that made it hurt as much as walking did. Gradually with stretching and getting up frequently, the pain decreased as my legs got stronger from the exercises.
X_X Sorry for rambling so much! *thinks too much* I hope things work out for you.
Eventually I caught on, started doing stretches, and adjusted my sleeping position. It started to peak at one point, and it really was as simple as taking an ibuprofen before bed for it to clear up almost completely.
I am not someone to ignore a problem with my body, but I also don't want to needlessly go to a doctor and pay hundreds of dollars for them to essentially tell me to rest. I like to give things like this a week or two to see if it'll go away on its own with proper rest and such first. So if it doesn't go away by next week I will be looking into getting it looked at uggghhh
So far the ibuprofen seeeeems to be helping it, though ; o; /crosses fingers it keeps it up
Thank you for the stretching advice though I will definitely be trying that to help my arm. I'm pretty sure it's just a unique instance, though. So long as I can fix it up I don't think it'll happen again... It definitely came from work itself on a very very busy day that isn't normal at all. I think in my attempts to go fast I just did something wrong to my arm. orz
Just try to not put too much pressure on it and rest yeah! ; o ; hugstight, best wishes!
