MFF / Thanksgiving Birthday! :D / Life update
12 years ago
General
So I should have done this a bit ago, for all the parts, but alas. Life is so busy! Work consumes most my time these days. So briefly-
First off- OMG isn't my icon awesome? :o it's from
. He's rad. <3 Thank you!
MFF!!!!
I'll be there. I'll be rooming with my
and
. I'm excited, it's my first MFF and I've heard amazing things. Many of my friends are out on on the north eastern region of the US, and I'll be seeing them for the first time in many ears. Can't wait! :D
I'll be there with my fursuit Poot, the rottie. I will not be tabling with Sal (he has artist alley, not dealer's!) so bug me to hang out. I'll have tons of free time! Twitter and texts are the best way to get in contact with me at cons :)
Thanksgiving Birthday! :D
Every... 8? or so years, my birthday (Nov 28th) falls on Thanksgiving. This is one of those years :D It's pretty awesome. I have great childhood memories of it. ^-^ This year should be a good one I hope. Upgrading my laptop as a gift to myself (loading more ram and a ssd... :D~)
Life update
A couple journals ago I updated about a number of things goign on. Work and life are pretty much the same. Sal and I have been married for three and a half months now, and that's awesome :)
Otherwise, regarding the vertigo and headaches and impending surgery... not happening. For now, at least. I got a second opinion, and had a CT scan done. I do have a deviated septum, but not severe enough to cause the problems I'm having. Just got an MRI of my brain and inner ears to check out for anything going wrong in those areas. No idea what I'll have to get done to fix it. Fingers crossed. :)
Regarding the psychological aspects I had mentioned, I've begun seeing a psychologist and recently a psychiatrist. I've been diagnosed with general anxiety disorder (always super stressed out) and dysthymia (chronic, low level depression). Basically I'm just less happy and more easily stressed/depressed/etc than the average person. Doing some cognitive therapy things to help out with the negative thought processes. But, it's been pretty bad, so I'm trying out some meds to help (zoloft). It's helped out immensely. GOtta balance the dose and everything, but so far it's helped out a ton. Not constantly stressing, constantly thinking bad things, etc. Also less grumpy dragon and stuff. So going well. :3
Anyway. Hope to see many of you in a week!

Just be careful wit that Zoloft. . . . . . . it can really ruin your life :[
Oh?
A much better thing would be to pick up something like Yoga, or Tai Chi. It really works and makes you feel better, both physically AND emotionally all day 8]
;C
Also, glad surgery is not needed and I hope they find out the source and that it isn't too hard to treat.
Did you know it's ALSO Hanukkah on thanksgiving and that won't happen for several thousand more years? 8D gonna be triple awesome!
Anyway, it's awesome that your birthday falls on Thanksgiving. Seems like a two-for-the-price-of-one deal that just can't be beat. Hope you have fun at MFF, and a happy double-whammyday when it arrives.
I don't know if my terrible puns are up to the challenge of cheering you up, as they induce more groans than anything else, but they're yours if you need them!
but that's just my naiive evaluation.
you need some variety in life. and a change of values.
I haven't given up all hope of my own attendance at MFF but... I'm 99% sure I won't be there. My employer has blacked out everyone in my department from taking time off during those days (and every day beyond until March) :( I'll really miss seeing you and Sal and TJ again. Hopefully things will be very different next year, or perhaps we'll meet again at another con. Hope you guys have a lot of fun, though! :)
I'm glad to hear things are looking up with your life in general, too. Or at least it sounds like they're on the right path. I'm confident things will only get better from here. :)
Take Care, Dreamous!
COngrats on the B-day; Mine's the 30th, and I always got it celebrated on thanksgiving with a big family thing till I moved out of Cali. I hope the Bday goes great, but I get the feeling with a husband as good as yours, that's virtually a gurantee!:)
I hope the work on the septum gets found out top be a comparatively easy fix, so that you aren't stuck in a hospital for too long, if at all.
I also wish you luck on the GAD and dysthymia; the brain can be an incredible gift but also make living very difficult at times; I had a number of neural abnormalities I was able to overcome with
