Today's episode was just crazy. But at least it didn't end on too heavy a cliffhanger as usual. Basically now we know it's Korra's turn now to fight Vatu as Wan did. Hopefully she doesn't die like he did, but she has Mako and Bolin with her, plus Tenzin and Kya if/when they find Jinora. If Unalaq and Vatu merge, they should be more or less on par with Korra, or more than likely stronger since Unalaq is a hell of a lot more skilled and experienced than Korra.

The rest of the season is up online to watch, so you dont have to wait to find out.
