The New Rules and Me

My art account
nitetigrezz Edit: Okay, okay, so thanks to the wonderfully patient carmen I better understand the second of the new rules :3 Not taking this journal down yet though because it has gotten me to really start thinking things over, especially about where to post my writing >.>
So I normally ignore the Announcement banners since they usually don't apply to Watchers or Writers, but something in one of my Watched artists journals got me curious, so for once I read up on them to see how they might apply to me. This one actually affects me rather directly, and has me seriously toying with the idea of going to another site for all my writing commissions. A few of the published writers I had the pleasure to meet at Rainfurrest reassured me of FA's lack of support to writers (yay it's not just me!), even with the FA Writer's Directory. There's just not enough emphasis with so many pretties to look at. Every single one of them highly recommended SoFurry. Though you don't always get the most mature or respectable of critiques (in fact it's very rare to >.>), at least there's more interest, which possibly means more commission potential as well.
With how much more difficult FA decided to make it for those without a large fanbase (though I do have a bunch of wonderful and lovely Watchers for the works I get commissioned, I don't exactly have all that many for my written works x.x), SoFurry is starting to look more and more promising. I'm even considering dusting off my old DA account. It's weird, because I always saw DA as the backwards kid brother to FA who tried but never really lived up to FA, but now it seems for every step 'forward' FA has been making, it draws this site several steps back. On the flip-side, from what I've heard, DA's been doing quite the opposite. While there's still the same level of immaturity evident on DA, the features the owners have been installing have made it a lot easier for artists and commissioners alike.
So I'm still waiting for the dust to settle. One reply I got from a higher-up was rather promising, so it might not be as bad as the writing of the modified rules makes it seem? But we'll see. I still want to look at SF more seriously as a writer, especially now that I know just how much I can get accomplished an hour once I turn off my inner editor >.> I may have failed NaNoWriMo thanks to my neck injury (wasn't able to type for extended periods of time), but at least I learned that much about myself!
Tl;dr
New rules might mean a change of sites for me. Not sure yet. Want to wait and see how the dust settles.
Will be more seriously looking into SF and my blog for my writings.

Well to me it makes the most sense to be posting on various sites anyways so that your fan base grows and you get the most exposure. You know that I'll help you out where I can to get you followers

OP
Only problem for me is I get lazy when juggling multiple accounts, even more so when they're on different sites. Eventually a couple of the accounts get dropped, and usually it's the ones that produce the least amount of results.

nothing wrong with weeding out the useless accounts but its good to have at least 3 to maintain to get your name out. even if you have someone to help with them.
