MWFF-bound and random thoughts.

vici and I are getting ready to head up to Chicago for MWFF. While I'm sure very few people who watch me here will be attending, I'm sure I will see all sorts of awesome fursuits, artists, and dealers. I've looked over the panels and, sadly, none really cry out to me. I feel like it's going to be a weekend of wandering around the dealer room and the artist alley. I might try my hand at the Furoticon beginner tourney, but that's up for debate. You will see me and her walking around in our lemonbrat hoodies, maybe even stopping by to see them and have them snap a photo of us.
On the drive up, vici and I will be outlining a revised storyline for our series, which will eventually be posted on our joint account ozbee. We just finished writing the draft of the first chapter, except for a small bit that vici needs to write. I'm currently editing the draft and preparing an intro to the story that we're writing so people can understand the setting better.
My random thought today refers to the recent banning of spam-to-win journals and excessive YCH/auction posts. While I can understand the necessity to advertise to get exposure, I feel like the admins were right to ban these sorts of posts. nelly posted a comment on the official post about this and gave a good example of how bad the "spam-to-win" journals were getting, as seen here: http://i.imgur.com/nATd1B8.png . I also have to say, any contest where someone is giving away actual money seems suspect to me. If it were something like "$1000 worth of art" I'd be okay with it, "$1000 real cash" and I feel like it's a scam.
That all being said, I will gladly promote artists in my journals, maybe starting up a "Watch Wednesday" or something, pimping my favorite artists and good friends (not that I have any RL friends here other than vici).
