What is the name of your fursona?
- Dragon. Original, right?
Where did the name of your Fursona come from?
- I've always associated myself with a dragon identity, so most of my e-mails/usernames/etc are dragon related. One particular nickname I have always identified with with a name jokingly given to me by a friend, Oyster Eating Dragon. It doesn't make sense. It's not cool. But it stuck. OEDragon became my name for everything. Even my xbox gamertag. So, after 4 years of hardcore gaming with a single group of friends, I got so used to responding to the term "dragon" as my name. It turned my head in normal conversation the same way your own name would if you heard someone talking about you across the room. The name, in all of it's simplicity, stuck. It also gives my scalesona a bit of mystery. Others have to question if that is truly or name, or that's just what she's called because that's her species.
• What species is your fursona and why did you choose that species?
Western dragon subspecies. I have an entire physiology designed for her species but can't be bothered to type it up for FA, it's that thorough and complicated. I chose a dragon because that is something I've always associated myself with. Dragons are symbols of strength, but perhaps the thing that appealed to me most was their ability to fly. It's different from a bird's flight, and it's appealing to me. That is no longer my primary interest anymore though and I often draw and picture her without the wings. Nowadays, I like to believe that she's not a dragon just because I like dragon's. She is a dragon because they are a thing of mythology. There is no one dragon. There are all different kinds; social, evil, flightless, elemental, body shapes, fins, aquatic... there are very few attributes that can be applied to all definition "dragons" and even then, how can one define what a dragon is if no one truly knows? Perhaps I just like the idea of being able to create a creature of any physical appearance with any physiology or capabilities I wanted, but while still being able to toss it into a category that will guarantee it is recognized as not being a hybrid hodgepodge of creatures.
• What color is your fursona and why? Hair/fur/eyes/etc
Brown because it's my favorite color and can be explained through evolution better than rainbow colors. White markings that are similar to those of a deer or horse because I drew from both of those animals for her physiology, plus I love bald faced horses. Her horns are the color of bone or antler just because it's normal, and her eyes are blue like mine(she also has coronal heterochromia like myself, there's golden mixed into her eyes).
• What is your fursona's personality and how does this compare to your RL personality?
She is mostly me, maybe a bit glorified though. While she isn't the largest, or the strongest, or the smartest, she is well respected and well known in my little imaginative world. And being a big name means big things for you, whether you're the best or not. This is unlike me because I'm prettymuch a nobody. Otherwise, she's mostly just me.
• What is one item your fursona owns that is significant to you in RL?
A set of dog tags. One of the tags she wears belongs to her and has her identification on it. Another has the identification of someone long gone but still very dear to her heart.
• What is one thing you think you would say to your fursona if you could meet?
"At last, we meet...."
• What is one thing your fursona would say to you if you could meet?
"...for the first, and hopefully not the last time."
• How has your fursona changed over the years?
Her personality has changed somewhat as mine has over the years.
• How long have you had this fursona?
I've always identified with a dragon character, she didn't take on her current form until about 3-4 years ago though.
• Would you like to be more like your fursona?
Of course.
