Day of the Doctor review
Let me preface this by saying I'm a relative newcomer to Doctor Who. I became aware of the series near the start of Matt Smith's run but only really started watching around Series Seven. Thankfully I have a good friend who's a very knowledgeable Whovian who not only filled me in on a lot of the storylines but also sent me some of his older DVDs. So, to those of you who know more about the series than me please keep that in mind.
That being said...having just watched the episode with my friend I have to say it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I had some idea of what to expect but I was completely blown away by what I witnessed. Matt Smith, David Tennant and John Hurt (squees) were incredible as the Doctor and their interaction was easily the best thing.
I honestly wish I could go into more detail but if you're a Doctor Who fan you really need to see this for yourself if you haven't already. To those of you who've never seen Doctor Who before I encourage you to give it a look. Doctor Who is certainly one of those series that's hard to get into, mainly because of it's extensive history, backstory and, let's face it, because time travel tends to give people headaches. But this episode was well put together and I was able to follow everything with only a little bit of assistance from my friend. The primary conflict is spelled out rather nicely and, no spoilers, ties in deeply with the Doctor's history in the new series, which is also either explained or can be assumed based on what's happening.
In conclusion....yeah, basically everything I said. If you're a fan, see it. If you want to start, see it. If you hate the series, why are you even reading this? Honestly.
On top of MLP's season 4 premire this weekend has been incredible beyond words. It easily knocked me out of the depression I've been in and I seriously feel like I'm lighter than air. Best wishes to you all.
