Lay's Chocolate Chips... taste sensation or waste of $3.50?
For those who don't know, Lay's is test-marketing bags of Lay's potato chips covered in chocolate at Target stores. Trying to see if the demand is strong enough to put them in grocery stores, apparently. After getting a mixture of online reviews, I thought I'd try a bag myself and see how they taste. Specifically, which is the stronger of the two... the sweet or the salty.
Here's a picture of what they look like here: http://i784.photobucket.com/albums/.....ps5982b266.jpg I was a little disappointed in the size, as the bag is about as big as my hand, and I don't have a terribly big hand. I'd say the sweet of the chocolate was slightly more intense than the salty potato chip, but you could definitely taste both. However, I wouldn't put it in the category of a 'must have sweet'. Especially for three and a half dollars. You could get better things to eat for that price, and it's just not something that made my taste buds dance. It was good.... but not great. For a little more money, I probably could simply buy a regular bag of Lay's Wavy chips, get some dark chocolate chips, melt them down and coat the chips myself, then do a quick freeze to harden the chocolate, and probably get some tastier chips that way. Might even cost less in the long run.
So there's my suggestion... make your own! Or just eat the chocolate and the chips separately like you're supposed to. This was a mashup that didn't quite work out for the best. :)

FA+

Though with how much salt goes into processed potato chips, I still bet its too salty.
