The origins might not be very good, but the holiday is still a great excuse to take a little time with loved ones to remember things to be thankful for.

I'm thankful for my family, for my love, and for all my friends old and new. I'm thankful for good health, a roof over my head, food in my pantry, and a great new job that pays more and leaves me with a smile instead of stressed and frustrated in tears.

So whether you're celebrating with a huge family, lots of friends, or just a few members, whether there's a ton of food to be shared by all with leftovers to last for weeks or are sharing a modest meal to last the day, even if you don't celebrate at all, please be sure to take a few minutes to let your loved ones know you're thankful for them. It's something most people do so little, so it's good to take every excuse we can.
