I'm interested in attending since I wasn't happy with FWA's current hotel. But their website is skimpy with no word on who's the GOH or who is running it.
I applied for staff but was too late to get on board unfortunately but a friend of mine hopefully will release some information on whose running who the GoH is etc.
DISCLAIMER: I don't know anything for sure, I'm only assuming this. Please don't hold me to it.
Maybe someone got sick? A person's health takes priority over anything else, and we can all go to FAU or AC in the absence of FurFright.
But I won't lie, FF will always be special to me. I had more fun at FurFright than I've ever had at any other function in my 35 years of life.
-First convention that I was allowed to be a guest attendee (all others, I was a dealer).
-First convention where I had my first interaction with a lot of furs all at once.
-First convention with a "furry" theme to it, and it kicked arse!!!
Let's stop thinking about how we won't be able to attend, and start hoping that everyone is ok.
Trust me, I have nothing against the people running it who had to bow out (they said they had family issues and such). Yes, I agree it comes first and foremost so I understand real life stuff comes up and yes, that's more important than a furry con anyday. People have real lives and yes, I can totally understand that. Just stating that it sucks that it seems like several good cons (cons with real good reputations of being rather well) seem to be closing up shop before I even had the ability to get to them.
Who knows... It's still too early to tell if in fact, this is the end of a North East furry con, or if someone else will take over where they left off.
What am I saying... There's FAU in New Jersey and AC in Pennsylvania... This (I'm thinking) was considered a "New England" furry con, not a "North East" one. Sorry for the mix up.
I hope that Belic and Kngra's troubles turn out for the better, whatever they are. Yes, real life does have to take priority over a con. Damned shame that the two of them are so central to the con that it is impossible to continue it without them.
I hope that another furcon springs up in New England for halloween time. It is a good time and there is a bunch of people who are habituated to coming up here each year around then. Hopefully the replacement con committee will organize themselves such that no one person is irreplacable, and so when someone has their real life implode on them, or their company transfers them to Albuquerque, the convention can go on.

Haven't attended it myself, but believe it ended because the size of the con exceeded the amount of space it had available.
Just my two cents on this issue. Hope it answers your question.
