What if...

Suicide is a subject I often think about. I'm fascinated by the idea of someone taking their own life and the mystery of why they did so. So, the story I just started tonight revolves around that. I am mixing in a few other popular subjects in my style, like the hint of the supernatural, the threat of insanity and viewpoints changing our interpretation of a scene.
This new story is about a young wolf named Ral (his identity may change, as Ral is just a temporary character while I iron out the details of the story). Ral is a young troubled male. He is wracked by a terrible seizure when he's 12, he has mild delusions and hallucinations (either due to his seizures or an outside force) and deep-seated psychological problems, inborn due to unbalanced brain chemistry. This all leads to him calmly putting a bullet in his head at the age of 17 (which is not a spoiler, since that fact is revealed at the beginning of the story). This story is not about the end result, it's about how he got there, which I think is a more fascinating trip than the abrupt ending. It's like a drive next to a car pileup. The set up of the wrecks is more interesting than the wrecks themselves, and we look at the wrecks because we want to know what happened, the story behind the deaths.
I hope to have a full chapter written by tomorrow night and posted in the scraps area.

Sounds interesting (I'm also more than a little fascinated with the idea of suicide), can't wait to read it.

Sounds fairly dark, though interesting. I'll be sure to read it when you get it up.
