well when you log in, and you're on the home screen, go to your account settings, then on the right theres a link to "block by keyword" and there you can type in any kind of tag that has been entered into IB's database and it will automatically block submissions that are tagged with those

I already maintain all my SFW art over at Deviantart, so I'd be fine for that if FA went down, as for NSFW stuff, I guess I'd just migrate to Inkbunny or something.

My main gripe if FA fell apart would be the art community fracturing, it is already plenty hard finding artists when they're all leaving for Tumblr/Weasyl/Pixiv etc, a forced evacuation would be much worse.

Can't blame people for being curious with how the site has been for a couple years. *shrug*

Don't get me wrong I love the site and so do my IRL friends and net friends but it goes down so much. Sometimes for long periods of time. Can't help everyone for being curious and letting their commissioners follow them else where.

There is occasional downtime, yes. But we don't have the resources of major sites and smaller sites don't also have the massive load we do. We strive NOT to have downtime (because it really does annoy us as much as it does you guys). We're trying to minimize it.

That I do read a lot about. Nearly every time it goes down. Some of us keep tabs on it. I'm just saying its a legit and rational conversation. Also all sites die in time. Just like all thing's with age. So it may not be for years to come but hey, I found this to be an enlightening journal. Heck I would love to know where to find everyone or what some of the fandom I know would be doing under the circumstance.

I think the fear is partially justified after 2008's shutdown, even if it was 5 years ago, people keeps memories. In my case, considering that this is my workplace, I would really be fucked if something like that happens again. The amount of performance drops that happened lately, and the readonly modes that happened fairly recently can also wake up fears.

I think is natural that people can fear stuff like that, even if is not going to happen. Also sometimes there are things we can't control. What if (in a very hypotetical case) someday the actual server receives a thunderbolt and is completely fried? Are there backups? How long it would take until fA is working again? Would you be asking for donations again?

If I was the sysadmin from fA (or from any server, in reality), I'd be worried about that too and I'd try to have a contingency plan (like a fA mirror server updated twice at week, by example). I dunno if you have already that or a plan in case any catastrophe happens, but that's at least my thought in general about system management.

Hmmm idk how to describe this well enough but I would probably be very sad cause first I have a loving and very close fur family here that I care for and love very much and I made soo many memories on this site not including the bad ones but the good ones that mattered the most. Second this is where I made a lot of arts old and new where I have learned soo much from artists and learned soo many different ways I drawing and improving that if this site were to go down for good I would miss it soo much I don't know what I would do cause this is a side job of mine where I do commissions along with getting my art out and where I can truly be myself around.

I'd probably just switch over to some other site like Weasyl. They would probably love it, since that site never lived up to the migration buzz it created when it first arrived.

I'm not an artist though, so it'd be easy for me. If this site went down, it's the artists who depend on the extra income from commissions it would affect the most.

I honestly don't know; I don't know of any other sites with this much content or this many users. I hear weasyl is good, but never have been on there; InkBunny has...implications.

I prefer deviantArt, so it wouldn't be a very big deal to me. I would be disappointed to lose my favorites on here, though.

So ya. There's tons of art-sites out there. I use at least a few others. Any place that is active enough and is not to limiting with what they allow you to upload is a nice place in my book. But for now Fa is still my main. *mew

While I do have other sites than FA (dA, IB, Weasyl) I think.. I'd panic. I make my living here and without it I don't know what I'd do. dA is stupidly difficult to get noticed there, plus, too many weebs. I think if I had to, I'd go to Weasyl, but not happily..
