Writing a paper on trans* and queer in the furry fandom

I have an LGBTQ sociology class and for my final paper I want to write about the furry fandom, a community with a large LGBTQIA population and whose culture is shaped in many ways by LGBTQIA culture. I want to explore why this is, what this means, and how people negotiate their gender or orientational identities within the context of the fandom. Furry seemingly has a long history of sex positivity possibly stemming from the DIY fanzines and underground comic scene that largely fueled the furry fandom in its nascency in the late 70's and all through the 80's(Vootie, Fritz The Cat, etc.). I feel that this long history of positivity towards an important but also stigmatized part of our cultures allows us to reevaluate questions of sexuality. Patriarchally-defined views on sexuality, gender roles and comportment aren't abandoned in the furry community but they are largely destabilized, recontextualized, and reconceptualized as they have been in the actual LGBTQIA community. It has been my experience that elements of male homosexuality are glorified and are at the top of the stratification although bisexuality is the largest attested sexuality in the community and has been for at least 15 years. But yeah, this is gonna be a p crappy paper.
And I might need your help. I want to talk with ppl over skype and interview them. I want some outside input and I feel like it'll be some good practice for me because I'm going into qualitative research next semester. So if you wanna talk to me about gender and sexuality in the fandom maybe, go friend me. Look for baishenlong or Yung Anime Protagonist. The interview doesn't gotta be over voice chat, but it can be.

the thing though is I'd feel bad if I only talked about one kind of fetishization. Because furries fetishize transgender people with "futas" and "c-boys" too. And yaoi is largely created by women and is an idealization and fetishization of gay men. Then I start leaving the furry fandom and talking about anime stuff with that. tbh everyone is fetishized in one way or another, it's not 100% bad imo. It becomes volatile when you gloss over those communities by way of fetishizing them which "herm" definitely does. So I definitely do agree that we have to make a case for the marginalization of intersex people but I don't know if I'm going to do that in this paper. However, I also have to do an archival project for the same class and I'm on the fence as to whether I should do it on Lou Sullivan, one of the founders of the FtM community, or Cheryl Chase who basically founded the ISNA which was an important intersex activist group.
