Holodeck time...

So... some of you might have heard a little statement from me in the past month or two saying how I've gotten into watching Star Trek, particularly Star Trek Voyager.
In fact it led to quite a few good laughs during MFF at the Westin - we were all lying in bed and I just happened to mention "Computer, turn off lights!" somewhat expecting them to go off anyways. They didn't :( Or just before that when another of my room-mates stubbed his toe on something. "Computer, activate Emergency Medical Hologram!"
I still can't get my head around why I expected to hear "Please state the nature of the medical emergency"
XD
Anyways, this journal isn't supposed to be about Star Trek. However, I can relate to a lot of futuristic technology in the series, such as the holodeck. Such a luxury seems like something that I so desperately desire for real life - nothing could possibly beat sleeping off the day's work and stress, and then to fire up the holographical room for some fun times with my furry friends and stuff. I can only hope that one day, perhaps 20 years or so from now, we are all gifted with the opportunity to actually become our furry selves in a holographical environment - with the ability to change certain things just with voice command - as seen in Star Trek.
I highly value my 'holodeck' time - this being roleplaying with other people and furries and getting to participate in an environment where one can forget all about real life just for a bit. The gift of being able to use your imagination with another person by the use of IM is the standard now, and it's a wonderful gift whoever gave it to us. I hope it gets to go further in the future as I mentioned...
Far from the realms of Star Trek, here we are - running up to the holiday season! Work is getting busier, right to the point where I've had to change a few priorities lately. It's all good though since the extra work of Christmas Time will allow me to go to Further Confusion (just six weeks' away!) and hopefully put some money aside for my fursuit (which I hope will be completed in November, 2014).
As much as I highly value any 'holodeck' time I get to spend with anyone of you, I haven't had the opportunity to find much time for roleplay recently. I apologize, but that's just the way it is now. I sincerely hope I get more time for such a relaxing and fun leisure in the near future, because I love to roleplay. It's a way for me to calm down and forget about most stressful things I have to put up with... though I do also have to be in the mood for it (this rules out particularly bad days at work where I am so stressed I need to go growl it out or something.
Anyways, heck this was a long journal. LOL
