First off I'm on my phone so apologies for any weird typos here.

Okay that out of the way, I will be sending off some coms tonight/tomorrow morning. I have gotten a good chunk of phone coms done during the week so expect those within the next three days to filter through.
Most of tomorrow and probably a portion of the day after I will NOT BE CONTACTABLE. I am doing that 24 hour comic thing where you draw 24 pages in 24 hours. So ye, just a heads up I won't be online during those 24 hours and probably some time after for sleep xD
In regard to FA being down... Hummm. I was watchcing the forums through the experience and have walked away feeling very dissatisfied with this place and it's staff. I won't really spend time ranting about it as honestly the same thing was said a million times over and over on the forums and I'm sure everyone gets it by now. Idk, though, it all feels very oppressive and mysterious at the same time and doesn't all feel right. I'll be keeping an eye out for a new art home. U_U;
Anyway, glad to be back for the time being--missed all you guys!

Not actually being a furry it's not so worth it. I've heard rumor a new art site is coming but still on the DL which I think I'll bide my time for.
I think a few popular people are moving over, which may cause the tide to shift.
The most important thing to me is that it's not completely buckled over with the shift in activity - it means that whatever Weasyl has is likely capable of what FA is currently *not* capable of.
SoFurry also has a good website/backbone, but a lot of their users come off as very creepy to me.
Wonder what that new site is though?
I might see about trying to keep the gallery up-to-date, but I'm so terrible at juggling more than two sites. Forget even trying to stay up-to-date with dA, FA, and tumblr at the same time omfg;;;;;
Idk if you know of Nabyn? Same guy's planning to make a new, follow-up site. A try two, with more knowledge and all that jazz. Looking forward to it.
I do know about Nabyn. It's unfortunate that it stagnated, I was really looking forward to that. Do you know anything about the new version or is it just speculative?
IDK if this will help you, but Weasyl has a crossposter that works with many galleries, I think...? it's a Chrome extension that detects what site you're on and asks you if you want to also post to Weasyl. Might be worth keeping around at least for archiving?

I have a comic I'm working on that isn't furry-related at all. Which when I actually get going I'm going to be dropping in every gallery I can soooOOooooOo no point wasting time on a place for art that wouldn't allow it.
I've talked to the owner and he seems pretty set on it being a thing. There's no exact timeline though and the last update I saw he posted about its mention was a couple months ago. So it may be a while yet and anything that's a while yet is never quite for sure... He seemed pretty set on it, though, so I am hopeful!

The response time from Weasyl's staff is amazing, and while there are some issues with the site (forced tags, thumbnails and no text under submissions as far as I'm concerned), I'm a fan.
Community is what all the members make of it, so if you want to contribute, there's people there. It takes a percentage for something to really spill over, and maintaining both galleries isn't hard with the plugin that reposts to weasyl from FA, so why not make a presence?
