The Hobbit 2... is it any good?
I've been hearing some things about it that are sure to irk me:
-Digitigrade bear? Really?
-On that note, Beorn not at all a thickset man like in the book? Come on!
-Wyvern Smaug? Just... just...
What do you think? Is it still worth seeing?

I don't know which Dwarf Beorn is, so I couldn't say... the Large red-headed dwarf is revealed to be related to a certain LotR character...
What defines a Wyvern? I just thought he was awesome and sexy!~ So glad they didn't try hiding him like they did in the first movie...
Definitely worth seeing, if you liked the first one, you're going to LOVE the second! (even if you only kinda liked the 1st, still see this one!)
Saw it in 3-D, well worth it! ^_^
I wasn't very good with names, especially the ones in this setting...
Not sure what "thickset" means, but he is a rather large man, and doesn't seem quite so smart. I was able to predict what he was gonna say during one of his scenes...
Never knew about there being a comic book, only the novels and the cartoon movie from many years back.
I'm afraid I don't remember the book too well at this point, so I couldn't tell you how off it is or not.
FWIW, I was pretty disappointed in Beorn's human form too based on how he was talked up in the movie. Tall but not really massive. His bear form was rather, well, beastly, so digitigrade didn't stand out, it was clearly no ordinary bear.
So...honestly, it depends what you thought of the first movie? More of the same thing, plenty of action, gorgeous visuals, and not a huge amount else. Not a lot of characterization or heavy emotion, but I wasn't expecting any. I have to admit, I think it could've used a few funnier/lighter bits, and a few more HELL YEAH moments in the fight scenes (there was one, definitely!) Still didn't bother me, per se. It's pretty, so on a big screen it's great. I don't usually do 3D, can't comment on that.
I AM highly arachnophobic, so there's one scene I didn't watch at all >.>
My father was a bigger fan of the LotR stuff and the books, and he was quite satisfied with both Hobbit movies, FWIW.
