The 10th Vid of Christmas -- B.C. - A Special Christmas

General
A rarely-shown curio of a Holiday special from 1981 based on the comic strip B.C. by Johnny Hart:
Part 1:
The voices of Peter and Wiley are the comedy team of Bob and Ray.
Part 2:
Of course, the whole concept of cavemen celebrating Christmas is a paradox that I'm sure both Hart and the creators of the animated special were well aware of, but it was (mostly) played for laughs, after all. And they weren't the only ones...

Least Grog got a few cameos, and of course, nothing much fazes Grog, even weird new-fangled holidays. ^.^
Ironically, this was made in 1981 -- before Hart went totally off the deep end like he did in the 90's. Yes, the bit at the end was kind of tacked on, but compared to some of the Sunday strips Hart did near his end, it seemed more like an acknowledging nod and wink than a Jack Chick tract. At least that's my take on it...
I completely forgot about the Anteater and the Dookie Bird; maybe it wouldn't have been, er, family-friendly enough to have the anteater show up and eat the ants?
Dookie bird was missed, though. Apparently, in the computer-animated B.C. movie, they DID include the anteater and Dookie Bird: http://fanon.wikia.com/wiki/B.C._%28film%29.
(With John the turtle voiced by Larry the Cable Guy. How's that for a scary thought?)
And yeah, I should give Hart the benefit of the doubt: the end wasn't anything more then the sort of Nativity reference found in many other Christmas specials. He got FAR more blatant in the 90s; this was a classic example: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...../Bc_easter.gif
(But still no Apteryx. At least, except this fine lady:
Cavemen with glasses, snorkels, steel axes, and the Gregorian calendar?
Somehow, I don't think historical accuracy was a concern.
Besides, as you can probably guess above, it's the critters that really are the fun part of B.C. for me. (And yes, I classify Grog as a "critter"...albeit a really BIG, really LOUD one)
