Some of the eyes have those following eyes, like  metalwoof's and  damaron's. Those aren't too bad. :D

No. Not, like, a plastic envelop-your-head mask. I mean like built up layers of latex paint applied directly to the forehe- er, directly to the face. Or at least something that lets you actually SEE the person's face x3

I saw foam-latex prosthetics like that on the web... back when Altermeta was still going, I was going to have Noben do a commission for me of a facial study, and have them make a custom prosthetic.

Thats a bit more like it :3 Though myself, I try to keep a mostly human mouth structure, as the cleft palette is a nudges it a bit the wrong way towards Uncanny Valley for me. x3

But then again, I seem to be about the only one I know who thinks of furriness as applying animal traits to people rather than the other way around, without stopping at the cat-ears and tail only model. :V

Probabbly more like My Suit.

I can see advantages and disadvantages to both styles, but I like to see variety in the art of fur suiting (or costuming in general). I think the ideal "comfort" fur suit would be like those new anime character suits, thin, tight, breathable, fitted spandex like material with some kind of close fitting mask, basically a spandex base in and of itself with the furry elements on top in the most conservative but life-like way possible...that way you could pull it on and off at your convenience and have to bother with makeup and all the bothersome trouble that brings. Admittedly though a lot of furries wouldn't look nearly as...cute 'n cuddly in such a fursuit, although it would be much moar comfortable to wear. I honestly don't understand how most fur suiters can stand to wear those mascot suits. I wore one in high school for a year as the school mascot and...holy hell...literally, it was like roasting in an oven. To the point where we didn't even normally have the mascot for any spring sports because it was just too dangerous to wear the thing. I dunno, maybe they make them better now, more breathable than the one we had, if not though...wow...I feel very, very bad for those essentially suffering heat exhaustion for their art/fun. I've never been to a con, so I'm not sure, but I would guess that they keep the temperature pretty low in the building?

I'm pretty sure it's mostly the same. I had a friend who commented she lost about 15 lbs in a weekend due to her fursuiting. It's why there are headless lounges at cons and pretty much every fursuiter has a handler who looks after them, getting them out of the heat and full of water. Many newer suits though are being built with internal cooling systems though. Sometimes as simple as using a computer fan in the head, though I think the new Disney costumes have an actual air conditioning unit. But yeah, heat exhaustion is a pretty common topic at most furcons.

I had a related experience while I was at Halloween Horror Nights here in Florida (It is when Universal Orlando turns their park into a haunted house for a month). There were themed "Scare Zones" that had characters and whatnot from various weird shit, Alice in Wonderland, 1850's London, a Swamp Town/Deliverance Setting, Etc. Well, there was a Wizard of Oz one and the Cowardly Lion was walking among the crowd, in the fog, jumping out at people. I just thought he was hot. But he did have the makeup you describe.

Fursuits that are done well and with expressive/experienced people inside them are awesome. And with someone you already have the hots for gets inside one that looks great.. mreow. XD

I am a bit on-the-fence about the current trends in fursuits. The bulk of the fabric adds to much for my liking, i'd like to see people take advantage of their natural figure instead of fluffing it up so heavily. :(
