The Plan
So, amongst my night terrors and throbbing cold sweats from this head cold, I have had little snippets of imagining myself standing before this new year. I am standing tall with a fire in my eyes--flourished with motivation and my stubborn determination. I have let myself be foolish enough to shove aside trying to draw for so many years. I have made the excuse that I didn't have the energy to really get back into drawing all of the time--I had more important things to do than to write my story or draw my characters. It is amazing what finally making some random decision to include yourself in a worldly challenge, even when deciding to do so a couple days later than the actual start, and completing it can do for a wake up call. I am a NaNoWriMo 2013 winner, and it has made me realize more than ever that my dream career is to be an Author and Illustrator. There is no way that will come to be if I do not keep at it--if I do not make time for it.
Around this time, many people begin to work on figuring out a New Year's resolution. Something that they want to change about their lives; they make a goal to improve themselves. Well, I have come up with a plan.
Of course, I am still struggling with my weight and my quest for better health, however, this is a goal that cannot be accomplished with only focusing on one year. It is a life-long project. I will still diet and exercise--I'd love to be thin and fit for :devkael-zochar:'s wedding--but I will do that continuously for my life. It would be pointless to make that my New Year's Resolution. So, I have a different new one.
My year of 2014 is going to be my year of Incredible Creation. I have scheduled myself to sit down to write, read, or draw for two and a half hours every other day. Of course, so far I have spent much more time than the scheduled time to create lately, and I imagine that will continue for the entire year. I have crafted some lists that I am still trying to type up of things I want to write, draw, and read. I'm working on a doc-ception with Google drive to type them up. So far all I have done is the descriptions of the drawing categories (https://docs.google.com/document/d/.....it?usp=sharing). I would have worked on it more today, but my head keeps switching from throbbing pain to light as air. (I wasn't capable of going to work today. I hate calling in sick.)
For the time being, I have a few top priorities that I will list here as a small checklist until I get the rest of my Google documents typed up and linked together.

A gift for Rebecca010 - Her rapid attention to my posts has inspired me. She has helped sway me to post my doodles that I have done in the last years that are not yet posted here.
I want to use 2014 as my year to catch up on the many years I have pushed aside my artwork and writing.
I'm going to make a goal at the beginning of each month and report my progress at the end of each month, as well as set the new goals for the upcoming month.
All of what I create and log will be incorporated into my very first art book that will be available for purchase in 2015. (lulu.com)
I will always be open for requests. I may not decide to do every single one that is mentioned to me, but I tend to thrive on being challenged to draw others' characters. There are limits to what I want to draw. (I will get to that eventually.)
I am interested in doing trades. Due to learning from my past, I will not take on more than one trade per month. There are limits to what I will accept for the quality I receive in comparison to what I am to give. (I will get to this eventually as well.)
I am interested in doing commissions again. These will be limited per month, however. My skills, as unpracticed as they have been, have still been adjusting over the years. There is a clear difference between my older illustrations in comparison to the ones. I will need to reconfigure my prices. As with requests and trades, my commissions will also have limits on what I will draw.
I will develop my terms for my requests, trades, and commissions. Until then, everything will be negotiable.
