Looking Back on 2013
1:What did you do in 2013 that you’d never done before?
Oh goodness, a lot. Too many things to even name.
2:Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Some yes, some no. I usually try to come up with reasonable resolutions but half the time I either forget what they are, or fail at keeping them.
3:Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes! One of my best friend's had a baby girl this summer :)
4:Did anyone close to you die?
Unfortunately, yes. It's been quite hard to get over.
5:What countries did you visit?
Sadly, none. That will change next year though!
6:What would you like to have in 2014 that you lacked in 2013?
Clarity and happiness. I struggled a lot this year and even though I've just started to pull myself together, I'm hoping that next year will be my year.
7:What dates from 2013 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
I'd honestly rather not mention most of them.
However, November 9th is a great memory because that's when
and I got together :)
8:What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Finding myself. I know it sounds weird and cliche, but it's true. I had no idea what I wanted, both out of life or myself. I fighting a war within me and it's taken a long time to calm the waters but I am finally making peace with everything.
9:What was your biggest failure?
Letting the one person I loved more than anything down. I fear that I will carry that burden forever. Though I've managed to be at peace with everything now, it's still a tender spot for me. Some days are harder than others because at times I still feel guilty, even though I know I shouldn't. I still count that as a failure on my part and even though I've been told that I'm forgiven, it still stings to think about.
10:Did you suffer illness or injury?
I had melanoma removed at the beginning of the year.
11:What was the best thing you bought?
A ticket to see Joel Osteen at the ACC. That man changed my life, changed me, and he means more to me than anyone could ever know.
12:Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Uh, I'm honestly not quite sure what this means exactly.
13:Whose behaviour made you appalled?
Oh. Well I'd rather not say.
14:Where did most of your money go?
Towards adventures.
15:What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Seeing Joel Osteen, and making such incredible new friends :)
16:What song will always remind you of 2013?
Hmm, not too sure yet.
17:Compared to this time last year, are you: (a) happier or sadder? (b) thinner or fatter? © richer or poorer?
Happier, thinner, richer.
18:What do you wish you’d done more of?
Traveling.
19:What do you wish you’d done less of?
Making stupid, selfish mistakes.
20:How did you spend Christmas?
I spent the day with my family, part of the evening/dinner with one side of my family and the rest of the time with my wonderful boyfriend.
21:Did you fall in love in 2013?
I did :)
22:What was your favourite TV program?
Once Upon A Time.
23:Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
No. Hate is such a strong word.
24:What was the best book you read?
The Fault In Our Stars.
25:What was your greatest musical discovery?
It's a tie between Misconduct and Strike Twelve.
26:What did you want and get?
Happiness. It seems like it took forever but I worked my ass off for it and I finally understand what it takes to truly be happy. That is the best gift I ever could have asked for.
27:What did you want and not get?
A trip to Texas, haha!
28:What was your favourite film of this year?
Star Trek: Into Darkness.
29:What one thing made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
My furbros, hands down. If it weren't for this loveable bunch of fuzzy losers I don't know what I'd do.
30:How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2013?
I have no clue about fashion I just kind of wear clothes.
31:What kept you sane?
Joel Osteen and my furbros.
32:Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Same as always; TIM CURRY <3
33:What political issue stirred you the most?
If I hear one more thing about Rob Ford...
34:Who did you miss?
That's an obvious answer.
35:Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2013.
Not everything will work out the way you want it to. People will let you down, and you will let other people down. But things don't happen TO you, they happen FOR you, whether you realize it at the time or not. And about 99.9% of the time, you won't understand why it happened for a while. But things eventually get easier and you will make it through the hard times. When it seems as if you've hit rock bottom, and you have nowhere left to turn, that's the moment things will start to get better. No matter what, do not let go of hope. Never give up, never give in to the negative thoughts that may cloud your mind or your judgement. Keep pressing forward.
36:Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
"You've gotta ask yourself if you can make it alone. It's getting darker now, but I am not letting go." - Just A Second, Misconduct.
Oh goodness, a lot. Too many things to even name.
