I enjoy the cold, but not snow. Snow is a pain in the arse. Slip down the steps, slip going up the steps, slip getting wood every 3-4 hours for the fireplace.. ugh..
WE got tons of it, then we had a massive ice storm that lasted 36 hours.. that brought much of my province dark... no power, sooo much destruction on the trees only a few hours east of where I'm at now. Locally we just had outages, but I feel sad seeing every bloody tree in a city called Brampton all shattered.. like toothpicks from the weight of the ice.
Nowww we got mega snow rofl. Winter with a vengeance I suppose.
I actually have a bunch of people there that have been bugging me to do so.
I been already in prep for awhile, I'm about to finish up some medical stuff first, but I'll be getting my passport set up soon after. Got some friends there and some down Texas way I'd like to stop at on a nice vacation. :D
Where are you currently, MN. ND, WI. Anywhere in Canada? I can live with the snow, though I do not really have a wood burning stove to use regularly to maintain eat in the house either. Somehow I also feel alas that it will get worse, before it get better.
As the saying goes, "you don't need to shovel the rain."
Also driving through rain doesn't turn your commute into a 5-times-longer-than-usual ordeal. :P
And of course people don't die from exposure in rain, nor have to spend huge amounts on heating to stay comfortable.
I'm on the opposite side of the lake, and yeah, between the two snowfalls where they predicted 1" and ended up with 6", and the fact that our lows are supposed to be at or below -20c for 4 of the next 6 days... not a fan.
