TielI'd never really considered myself to have any pet peeves until this morning... It's always bothered me but today it just really fucked me off for some reason.

What is this? what does it mean? what is the concept?
whelp here's the wiki definition
"(Speed painting) Speed painting is a type of art practice where the artist has a limited time to finish the work. The time can vary"
This is what I always assumed it was. this to me is what the name implies...
So why..... are there 50 thousand youtube videos dubbed speed painting yet feature works lasting up to 40 hours?
If you take 11 hours of work and compress it into a 10 minute space then that's not speed painting, that's a doubletime video >:(
If people could spread this around it'd be great, I love to watch actual speed painting but i can't really find any because of the fucking mislabeling.

People are funny when it comes to image and exposing any sort of shortcoming or improvement, at times.
Anyone who knows anything about art can obviously tell it isn't a speedpaint, but someone who doesn't know better and looks at one of those peoples "speedpaints" and a real one will think "wow, that other person sure is a lot better!"
