Hmm, I think a lot of it has to do with the sense of the uncanny. Suddenly you're stuck in a world that wasn't designed with you in mind, but for people much larger. There's the aspect of how to do things at pretty much every size. You can try to figure out how to do things by yourself, but eventually as you dwindle you'll become completely reliant on people who are bigger and more capable of interacting with normal things.
There's also the small = cute factor, people picking you up and carrying you around in a backpack or something because your legs are too short to keep up.
If you're small enough there's also a loss of communication. With macro, the world is full of tiny people with a few giants that can do whatever they want. When you're the small one, you're living in a world full of giants who can do whatever they want with you and you can't really say anything back.
Originally I think it was because there were so many foxes in the fandom already, I wanted to go with something a little bit different but still familiar. Since I was getting into macro/micro stuff at the time, I figured why not go with the smallest species of fox? :3
Plus you have to admit that fennec ears are totally silly and adorable.
Believe it or not, I'm actually friends with several macro fennecs!
We generally goof around, tease the little furs, all the things that are fun to do when you're big.
You become a macro for a day, but after the day's up, you become micro for then on out. Do you treat friends to pawsmooshes in hopes they'll do the same for you?
