It's kind of a controversial thing I've seen recently. Tracing one's art pose is generally acceptable I think if it doesn't go beyond the pose. I mean poses can happen in any way, but if they go beyond that like, the style of the eyes, the outfits used, the expressions or say the idea behind the artwork like "Grifter grabs a cup of coffee" scratch out "Grifter" and put in "Nick" that I'd say is going a little too far. I'd be flattered for people using poses as a reference, but not if they're stealing the whole idea of the picture.

I was thinking the same thing.. But the outfits and one of the characters are the exact same in the image.. and the idea behind the picture was also copied, as well as the expression that each of the characters in this picture have. Literally the only big difference is that one of the characters was colored to not look like mine. So they basically stole the whole idea of the picture yes. I'd post a link of the supposed stolen piece and their's but until I talk with them I am going to refrain from doing that.. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt and hope they were just ignorant in not knowing what is considered stealing. Basically I'm taking it as a "educate this person before they do this to someone else's art who may not be so kind later on" kind of thing.

I mean don't get me wrong.. I am flattered someone liked the picture enough to reference.. And I'd be fine if they had put in a link saying they refed my specific picture.. But they didn't and so it makes it a bit of a problem.
