Most newer artists do simply look up to popular artists and wish to be like them someday. Some may even ask for tips on art. But I'm sure once you get ten or twenty a day, it gets to be hard. Or some may feel miffed you can't help them. Try to take it in stride and let it roll off you like water off a duck's back.

I think most beginning people are just too sensitive to everything that isn't "OMG that's amazing!" about their art, so when they get anything less they automatically assume the worst and get offended.

And if you're getting tons of repetitive comments/requests/questions then yeah it can get annoying really fast.

Then, of course, you have tons of people who are trying to befriend you for all the wrong reasons, and I can't imagine that being any fun for the popular person.

New artists can outgrow them and make competition for easy money. Drawing is business, and you don't usually support a rival company.

I've been on art sites long enough to know the machinations of most popular commission artists. The fun ends the moment you draw more pieces for money than for your own enjoyment.

I wonder if it would be a good idea for popular artists to promote other, less popular artists. Maybe then people will more often commission the less popular artists so the labour gets spread out more.

Refer to the original journal reply for my honest opinion/observation. I don't exactly get much following so my advertising of other artists gets rather looked over.

I can never see myself being popfur, mostly because I'm not THAT good.

And I don't see must popfur artists as being arrogant. There are some that will open up to you... all you gotta do is take the plunge and ask.

I will be looking forward to the random art, hopefully it be something fun or simply or something that makes you go 'Huh?'

Don't let the fan boys get to you to much, can't please everyone! ^^
