after effects plugin: head Control 1.02
11 years ago
well, new year, new stuff coming!
after working with AE through many years, I started to get more used to the tools around and as I started to find some patterns during the rigging phase (adding the controllers), I decided that was time to develop some tools for my own that would help me and save time and also to keep things more organized.
Q: so, what's it anyway?
A: this will explain it, just by seen it you'll understand.
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B1N.....V0U/edit?pli=1
Q: oh, awesome! I'm so excited! how do I use it?! @_@
A: first you need to install it, download both files in this folder:
https://drive.google.com/folderview.....mp;usp=sharing
and follow the following steps:
1. In After Effects, go to: "File --> Scripts --> Run Script file...", and go to where you save the "head Control 1.02.jsx" file and run the script. It'll ask if you want to Install or Remove. Click on the Install and the script will install it and ask to restart the AE.
2. After closing the AE, place the "head Control 1.02.ffx" into the User Presets folder.
Win: C:\Users\xxxx\Documents\Adobe\After Effects CSx\User Presets\
Mac: /Users/xxx/Documents/Adobe/After Effects CSx/User Presets/
3. Run the AE again and everything should be in place now. To add the plugin for your controller, just type on the Effects & Presets panel "head Control 1.02" and you should find it out.
Q: OMG! I'm super excited now! But, but, but! when I move the controllers, nothing happen! what should I do Mr. Washa?! ;_;
A: Calm down! Now you'll have to link the parameters with the controllers using Expressions, if you don't know how to do that, I recommend to watch some basic training on this site: http://www.videocopilot.net/basic/
That's a tool that I'm constantly working with and improving, as I start to find more useful parameters to add or modify, I'll be adding in new versions, and any feedback and improvements are very welcome. Let me know if you guys can work with and if it's helping.
If some of you guys wants to know more about this kind of "puppet animation", check the awesome getting started tutorial done by Jasonafex: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/4615963/
