General
Well, friends, things haven't changed much here.
The virus is very similar to one I had in late November, early December, only more severe.
Today has been pretty bad.
Last night, I ate mucus all night as I slept. I got plenty of rest, but it didn't help much.
This morning, I woke up with rather swollen lungs, chills, a fever of 102.4, and moderate keytones.
The Motrin, Gatorade, and my diabetes control is helping keep things under control here, but, I seem to get a fever of 100-102 every time the Motrin wears off.
I keep going from being hot, to being cold as well. This caused things to feel sore, and me to sweat a lot.
There does seem to be one bit of good news today however. I have started to cough up green mucus.
Last time, this was a sign that the virus was on its way out.
My mom is still sick with similar problems. They're not quite as bad as mine, as she doesn't have diabetes, but its still rough.
My dad is still kind of sick as well, though he mainly just has the cough, and is able to go to work.
Hopefully, we'll be okay here. If the fever would let up, this would be much easier to deal with.

Well.. its odd. Just when I think I'm getting better, I get worse again. My mom has the same problem.
So, it kind of comes and goes. :(
I'm pretty sure its the same virus I had late last year, only now with a bad fever.
The extra insulin seems to be working well. The Gatorade and water are mainly for keeping myself hydrated, but, if something for the flu would help, I will look into that.
If I get very dehydrated, we have this stuff here called Pedialite, which I hear works very well.
Its not the flu in my case according to the tests at the ER, but it certainly reminds me of it in some ways.
Ouch, yeah, 104 is dangerous. That had to be really rough.
The green stuff is related to the virus.
It is basically stuff from my nose that is sitting down in my lungs, and then comes up when I cough hard.
You know, a flu shot two weeks greatly reduces immunity.
Nobody does this vaccine winter.
The last time it was like as sinusitis. Febris, the green stuff and a headache.
Of course, diabetes makes strong adjustments.
Do you have any otolaryngologist?
Maybe some antibiotics?
without fail - polyvitamins, wetting, this Pedialyte is fit. Motrin when the fever more than 38.5 Celsius. nasal lavage and no Fazin or so.
I hope that you and your family will be ok soon.
My prays with you.
I did not know that actually. Here, they just say not to get one if you are already sick.
I wish I would have waited now. However, the H1N1 flu is hitting the state and country hard, and the doctors have been urging those not vaccinated to do so ASAP.
According to the ER staff, its a virus that is not treatable with antibiotics. :(
In my case, antibiotics are not the best things due to C. Diff risk.
I will doing all I can to stay hydrated and keep the fever down.
I will check into the rest of your suggestions as well.
Thank you, dear friend.
That means a lot to me.
