In the year two thousaaaand!
One day I'm gonna be an old man playing on my Pandora, and some kid's gonna come up wearing some kinda scouter-looking thing, and he's gonna ask, "Hey, Mister? What's that?" Then I'm gonna say, "It's a computer, son. Back in my day, we had to carry our computers in our pockets, and them things you kids have now were only good for telling us what things' power levels were."
....
*sigh* My generation's gonna make the weirdest old people.

On the other hand, the fact that younger generations can't make the connection (CD is digital. MP3s are digital. Just a different version of the same technology), is what saddens me. First time I saw a laserdisc, I knew the pictures were in there in a similar way to tape, though I didn't know how or why it worked the way it did. The lack of a sense of wonder, of curiosity, of hunger for knowledge... it's about the same as in the dark ages, when illiteracy was common, and reading was for the rich. Some people are just happy knowing that they can drag and drop Lady Caca's most recent "hit" on a screen, and start listening. Others will want to know how, and keep on seeking answers to other questions after the first one has been clarified.
Sorry, lack of rest does this to me.
