$15 isn't going to kill anyone. I actually think starbound is a great choice of game for you to get. It's so much fun and it has some really nice humour in the universe. I've clocked about 26 hours into it and it's really worth the investment.

I'll think about it! I'm so bad at video games that I very rarely play co-op with people (unless they're as bad at it as I am and can't judge me), but... we'll see! If I can get the hang of it, I'll send you a note or something~<3

it's something you'll get the grip of easy. The tutorial is pretty good for the current beta stage and they plan on expanding it within a few updates. I'd just be aware that there is an impending character wipe (most likely the last one for ever according to the devs) so try not to get too attached to your current toon.

I usually don't get too attached and go so long between playing video games that i tend to forget how to play and start over anyways.. x3

If my 20 years of knowing my mom has taught me anything about her, I know she won't give two shits, so before you go telling me that I made some awful mistake and now my mom doesn't trust me, how about you think that maybe I know something about how she'll react, and that this wasn't just some stupid, trust breaking, life ending decision.

Well, considering that your mom shows that sort of concern for your future, I'm guessing you're about lower-middle class in terms of family wealth. Most of the budget goes towards fleeting consumer goods, such as pop, candy, small electronics, ect. Which means that 15 dollars is a partly sum of money that usually won't go unnoticed. I never said that you fucked up everything and burned down the house, but say I raised a kid for 20 years, and my financial situation has been such, maybe even worse in the past, fifteen dollars to you in the present seems like a pittance. But when that fifteen dollars comes up because she wanted something, and the money wasn't there, that's what she will be thinking about.

Seriously, dude, chill. I'm glad that you're so concerned about this $15, but it's really none of your business what's going on with it. We'll be fine with whatever else I'm able to make, on top of my dad's military pay, and help from relatives. This money, do you know what it was for? To give us wiggle room. To give us spending money. To give us money for groceries... and oh no, we can't buy that little container of nutella.. Oh, we can't buy eight cans of spaghetti-o's... oh, how will we ever get buy without the most expensive bread... This $15 is nothing out of the $200 I've mad to go to our bread and spaghetti-o's.

I was saying that you should consider how this affects others in the long run instead of satisfying a brief want for something that you'd most likely get bored with in about an hour, considering the game is in Beta and after you hit the wall, there is Jack and Squat to do.

Well, I'm sorry I read too much into it. Trust is just kind of a big... topic to me, I guess? And I don't like being told that I've blown some of that trust with a person that matters to me by a total stranger, that knows next to nothing about my family. Yes, we're middle class. Yes, we're in a tight spot, but $15 isn't going to make us or break us, right now, or in a year, or in five years.
My mom works contract jobs, and can work from home, so we'll have our main source of income back in the next... I don't know, five, six months, after she recovers. I'll still be doing commissions, and my dad still has his military retirement pay. My mom will be back to spending $300 a month on rocks in no time. :p

Its your money that YOU earned. You were upfront and honest about using it for something other than what you originally said. I commend your honesty with your commissioners however aside from your explanation of why you chose to buy a cheap $15 game the rest is none of his (or anyone else's) business. To be honest, commissioners should not get butt hurt even if you did not tell them. They paid you for a picture, its not like they gave the money to you via donations. Everyone that commissioned you got their money's worth in the form of artwork. Those people who did not pay you for a commission and get upset over this just need to apply some butt hurt ointment and get over it, it wasn't their money that went towards the game anyway. You earned the money by using your artistic talents, it is your money to spend as you see fit. Sorry to sound so brash but people getting butt hurt how others spend their hard earned money just boils my blood. I could understand if it was donated but when you actually go out and earn your money it is yours to do with as you please. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Nonsense, Toby, you deserve to get yourself something out of all of this hard work you're putting in, $15 our of everything you've made isn't that much, and it's definitely worth it if you ask me~ Starbound's a wonderful game, and actually, I was gonna try and get it for ya the second I had some money myself so we could play together some time, but I haven't really had any at all to spare.
