Did Dwarves actually exist? Were there actually a race of Dwarves in real life? As in, were there really an entire race of bearded men that lived in the mountains and had incredible mining and blacksmithing skills? Because if there were, I have a strong feeling that I come from their blood.

Think about it. I'm incredibly resilient to the cold, I can grow an epic beard, I have deep Scottish and English roots, and I somehow have an innate knowledge of metallurgy. I knew the melting point of iron before I learned what it was used for other than cookware.

If there truly was a race of Dwarves in the world, I like to think that they were the ancestors of the Vikings, or maybe today's Scotsmen.

Either way, here's to me carrying on a proud Dwarven heritage, real or fictional!
