Here we go again.

So, from what I'm hearing, the Dr. Phil show has started contacting furs with this letter:
""We are interested in learning more about Furries. What do your family and friends think? Do you have anyone in your life that doesn't accept your Furry hobby or lifestyle? Has anyone lashed out or bullied you? The Dr. Phil Show believes that there are at least two sides to every story and we’d like to hear yours. We also believe in phenomenal families, so we’d like to do what we can to help relieve any stress, settle disputes or mend differences you might be having with your family or friends. If all parties are interested in coming on the show to talk to Dr. Phil, we will set up phone interviews and if chosen for the show ultimately, arrange flights to Los Angeles, ground transportation, hotel accommodations, and food allowances. Thank you for your time, (contact info redacted)************** ""
While I can understand how innocent that this sounds, and just how tempting a free flight to LA and time on a television show can sound, I highly suggest that people avoid this like the plague.
The reason being, this sounds very much like the formula used by the Tyra Banks show a few years ago. For your consideration, it goes something like this:
1. Contact a large number of furries on FA and harmlessly offer to let them be on your national television show.
2. Once that tempting offer has taken hold and a large number of furs have responded, sort through the takers until you have a group of furries that seem to fit whatever stereotype (usually mur-suiters) that your show really wants to use (for ratings of course!).
3. Then you just share messages back and forth with the different candidates until you zero in on one that is absolutely the embodiment of the circus you'd like to share with the world, and bring them to the studio.
Before long you have successfully hurt thousands of furries for the sake of millions of viewers.
All that having been said... I am certain that multiple furs will take them up on this offer regardless, and if their intentions truly are to continue where Tyra Banks left off, then there's pretty much nothing that we can do to stop them.
Here's to hoping that somehow The Dr Phil Show really wants to showcase the fandom in general and fairly. Not gonna get my hopes too high though.

I hope you're right, but unfortunately it's already happened multiple times in the past. Still, I'd like to think that eventually furries will learn.

Yup. I'm still clinging to the hope that despite all of the rumors, this will go by somewhat painlessly.
