I have one myself.
Remember to configure the side buttons from the
control panel along with the art programs to the tablet
as well. Test the pressure sensitivity along with SAI's
Stabilizer tool for smooth lines too. SAI is mainly illustration
for a lot of people. Then the convert to PS for detail.

Neat. I hope that works out well, though yes, they do take a bit of getting used to if you've only ever used pencil and pen before.

As for art packages, they also take a bit of learning. They're not particularly intuitive either, and for the most part the developers can't fix that because too many people are used to their weird interfaces and scream blue murder if anything is changed.

I started using it instead of the mouse just to get the hang of it. I think I can make it for now.
