Check your Documents folder or use Spotlight-- TextEdit (handy editor, yes) usually saves its files to Documents by default. If you do open up the folder, Click on View, then Arrange Beyyy, then select Date Modified. The order usually is newest first. Good luck. Suicide is not something I'd care to read about, but like you, I'm a Mac user, and I do enjoy writing from time to time- My only real creative talent. :)

If you haven't saved anything in the interim, try saving something else, and see where that file ends up. I would guess it would be the same place, so you should be able to find the other story that way.
