New "tablet"...
12 years ago
Well, I wanted a tablet. A 7" one, to be precise. My sister's husband, meaning well, bought me a Surface. My observations thus far:
1) I really, really hate Windows 8.
2) This thing is obnoxious without a keyboard to go with it.
3) It's too heavy for my stupid wrists, so I can't hold it up.
4) It's not a replacement for my nook, which is what I wanted; it's a replacement for my notebook, which I do not need.
I don't want to be ungrateful and say I don't like it, but it's not what I wanted, and it's got maybe half the functionality I wanted. I wanted a tablet, with apps. I already have a notebook and don't like Windows 8, so this is definitely not fitting the bill at the moment. And considering it's all I got for X-Mas outside of a Barnes & Noble gift card (which is wonderful), I can't say I'm not disappointed.
In other news, this new year has, thus far, sucked out loud:
1) My IBS has returned with a vengeance, making it all but impossible for me to do my job (which I no longer enjoy at all);
2) My depression has also returned with a vengeance, meaning I can't do much of anything without fucking up;
3) I managed to get my aunt to completely hate me because of one emotional facebook post in which I lamented her unwillingness to tell her daughter not to use my legal name (and was called selfish and entitled... because I'm pissed that she can't tell a six-year-old to use a name I don't hate with a passion?)
I'm gonna go play video games or something. Not that I can enjoy those either. It's just a way to pass the time at this point.
