Cures for Insomnia?
Not sure what's up, but I have always been a champion sleeper until just recently!
The past week or so, I have been virtually unable to sleep AT ALL.
Even after days in a row with only 2-3 hours of sleep, each.
IT IS TORTUROUS AND IT NEEDS TO ENNNDDD
-- So, I wondered if you fine folk might know any good cures for insomnia?
OR, SHOULD I JUST SEE A DOCTOR? 8V
IDK.
BUT I AM SO TIRED I JUST *SOB*

Hope Zahz can find something that works. Inless it goes on for a long, long time I wouldn't mess with the doctor inless absolutely necessary. All they ever seem to want to do these days is get peopled hooked on "legal shit". [/b]
Definitely gonna put that on and see if it helps! (Granted, I have to wake up in 3 hours for work, anyway, but-... oh well~)
And dude, I know! That's why I never go! It's all such unnecessary BS, and I have NEVER personally seen any lasting treatments do anyone I know any good. I wouldn't be going to get the insomnia "cured", though-- I'm mostly wondering if there might be an underlying health issue causing it. I've also had a really weird appetite, recently. (I.E. NO appetite, and am having to FORCE myself to eat even my favorite foods...)
Dunno. Just weird stuff.
But, I'm hoping it's all just stress-related and will go away, eventually!
... Then again, with school and work about to start back up, we'll see if they go away at all. x'D
Heh well maybe with that school-work schedule you'll be too exhausted to worry about staying up. If all this is out of the ordinary and really starts to effect you then sure I'd say maaaybe consider the doctor. Otherwise, hope a much easier, cheaper alternative shows itself. Much luck *snugs Lemury lemur*.
I guess another lame suggestion would be to try to listen to something in another language that you don't understand. When I'm practicing Japanese, I sometimes try to listen to a drama CD (just search "drama CD" on Google or YouTube), but then I start yawning and feel bored because I realize I can't understand very much and am just sitting around wasting time. So if you listen to that in bed, maybe it would lull you to sleep?
You could also try to look around on Google, YouTube, or Yahoo Answers for other methods by gurus.
Another thing I try to do is avoid anything with caffeine or any other "energy-boosting" foods/drinks later on in the day. If I can help it.
ALSO, in response to a part on one of your other comments, "I'm mostly wondering if there might be an underlying health issue causing it. I've also had a really weird appetite, recently. (I.E. NO appetite, and am having to FORCE myself to eat even my favorite foods...)"
It could be the lack of sleep that might be causing that? I've noticed that when my insomnia starts kicking into high gear and I become unable to sleep for dAYS, my body kind of starts freaking the fuck out, as do my emotions. Unless those problems started before the insomnia.
It could also be stress, if anything's going on in your life. Or anxiety. My girlfriend's been unable to sleep well basically her entire break due to a bunch of anxiety she's been experiencing due to a grade problem (that finally got resolved), while she normally falls asleep very fast. So it could be something like that?
I'm not... really sure. I also experience times where I kind of have to force myself to eat from a serious lack of appetite, but aside from when I'm having emotional breakdowns, I have no idea what causes it. <:1
Either way, I hope your sleep issues go away and your appetite returns to you, among any other things you might be experiencing. qoq
'Nuff said.
Baby steps. Nothing is meant to be done all at once. X3
