Commission Update, better news, update on NYOP!
Hello again everybody. Re-writing this journal for the second time today. Just wanted to update everybody on some better news. My friend just contacted me earlier to tell me what is up and what's going on. I'm happy to know he's alive, and by the end of the month I'll be receiving my commission money. I'm still severing financial ties to him however as it's best for the both of us, for me it means more financial independence, and less bugging of friends to purchase something for myself while putting him at risk for future troubles. For him it's less worry about making sure a friends money is untouched and safe, while not having to deal with purchases, or trust issues. So things have been salvaged, not everything is 100%, but things are getting better!
So what is my end of the year total? It is... $615/1000! ... I could of done much better. And this is not counting Nice Crate Key sales from Team Fortress 2, I have not been paid for that yet.
Now, I've finally come to a conclusion for commissions as well, I cannot do commissions that are below the new $15 price minimum I've set for myself. I'm doing this for my own well being as you gotta consider how much time and effort is put into these pictures. Five dollars for between 3-5 hours of work is just not fair to me, and there is also the extra time put into inking, coloring, and possible last minute changes to the WIP sketch. The minimum I had previously set is just not fair, and anything below $15 just felt like a chore to do. I'm not trying to insult anybody here, I for one understand what it's like to see somebodies art and notice they're doing commissions, but also can't afford it. However, we artists have got to protect ourselves as well, I for one can't really afford to spend 5 hours working for just five bucks, when I've potentially got $100 waiting for me from Angry Joe himself if I finish up another comic.
I thank you for your support and for considering me for your next commissions, but I cannot work on anything below my new minimum, and I hope you do reconsider these new prices. My new info is down below for you to check out.
1. Pay whatever you want for whatever you feel your picture is worth, the minimum is $15!
2. NSFW content sells for a minimum of $25. Tasteful nudity is debatable.
3. No toilet stuff, no babyfurs/diaperfurs, and nothing hateful or racist.
4. You don't pay until you see the first sketch of your picture! Commission will only be finished after payment is made in full. Refunds are available should you not be satisfied with your picture. If you don't have paypal, we can discuss alternate ways of payment!
5. Please be as descriptive as possible with what you want in your picture, include references to characters you wish to see, what they are wearing, what pose they are in, and anything else you could possibly think of etc etc... Also be sure to include how much you wish to pay me. I can only make one revision to your WIP sketch upon request, any further changes/additions after the first revision will result in an extra $5 fee for my services. You can note me the info through Furaffinity, or by e-mail at phillipchanter[at]gmail.com but please try to limit the amount of notes you send.
6. I have the right to refuse any commission request I receive. If money is sent beforehand, it will be immediately refunded.
That's all you really need to know! I'm easy to work with if you give me the chance. So don't be shy and send a note, okay?
