A few people have wondered why Elecampane isn't like the typical red panda, in that the underside of his body isn't black, but white, turning into a gradient of black the closer it is to his extremities. He looks more like a hybrid of a fox and a red panda, said some! Some others still said that because of this, Elecampane can't really be considered a real red panda!

I don't know why people are still being so critical all this time about something so trivial, but I figured there are other things more worth paying attention to - such as the fact that Elecampane is actually a natural-born cuntboy, and not an FtM transgender like most people are thinking of; or the fact that Elecampane's world has magic and he's a tribal shaman; or the fact that he's eighteen but he looks feminine enough that he seems not to have undergone full puberty (according to some of my friends! XD)

I figure it's just one of the few things that make Elecampane unique. Sure, it gives a giant question mark as to his species, but he's a red panda to me, so that's that!

There was a time when I considered just making him a fox, and a time when I considered just making him a raccoon of some sort. But I figured I liked him as he is. He's not altogether as 'true to life' as some of the other anthropomorphic characters, but he is certainly mine. (:
