Yeah, it happens everytime FA has a monumental stuff-up. There was a big exodus when the site went down for approximate 10 years last year, and before that a little had trickled away with every site shutdown, every little adminstrator drama...The site can't really keep up it's incompetant limping along with it's competitor slowly but surely gaining power >.> And Weasyl's still only in beta, so it's likely to get better.

followed! I have the same username there as I do here (same goes for DA honestly). What's going on with FA anyway? I've seen a few journals about it but I don't visit here daily so it seems I missed whatever event it was o.o

Mostly it's a combination of things, but the thing people are talking about the most this time around is that the new programmer they hired is Zaush, who happens to not only be the most popular artist on the site...but also be a complete beginner to programming. There is absolutely no reason to have hired him. A lot of people are also angry because he is a confirmed rape apologist and says a bunch of really gnarly things, and it's almost certain he has sexually harrassed at least multiple people in the past and a distinct possibility that he has raped someone, or multiple someones. The other thing is the whole staff is coalascing to protect him for these things (and henceforth, endorsing some really shitty things, which they have a long history of). Personally I've been waiting to jump ship because this kind of crap happens all the time, and the whole site is a disaster coded by a succession of people who have no idea what they're doing and no idea how to responsibly administrate a website. :/

Ewww, I knew this site had some grossness in it but how it manage to be even WORSE than Deviantart is a wonder =n=; I'm running out of art sites to use without feeling like I'm supporting icky people.

The straw has finally broken the camels back. Im so glad the majority of my favourite artists have moved, the userbase was the only reason I put up with this site. Im lurking as katao. :) Shall see you over on the greener grass. :p

Weasyl actually has a convenient plugin (*For CHROME) that will let you import submissions one at a time from FA (and Inkbunny, and SoFurry, and deviantArt). Sadly, not bulk, but better than nothing.

When you install it, a little Weasyl logo will appear in your address bar whenever you're viewing a submission. Just click on it to open a "new submission" dialog on Weasyl with most of the fields already populated with the submission info.

It's a little funky and requires you to paste things in batches, but again, better than nothing.
