Liberae sunt nostrae cogitationes!
Vir sapit qui pauca loquitur.
Vir sapit qui pauca loquitur.
I need to find my own style in drawing.
But the easiest way for me to do this is to look at other styles and how to draw them. Could you guys possibly throw out a f***-load of drawing tutorials?
=)
...yeah, I know...I just need a way for me to draw where I feel comfortable with, yet it looks good. A way to draw that doesn't depend on detail, yet the drawing itself can get it's point through. (as in I don't need to spend 5 hours drawing a single head, yet not too cartoonish it doesn't even look half realistic.)
Please help!!!
-thanks

As for tutorials, I used to know one but I can't find it anymore...that was 4 years ago. Sorry if that doesn't help much! >.=.<
Observing the sapes and lines of otherpeoples drawings helps allot too.
A proper style is really just an elimination of some realism and an exaggeration of others. for example, anime uses five divisions of the figure instead of the 8 you would use in realism, and exaggerates the eye expression, while using nothing but a few lines for the other facial features.
Realism is not as difficult as it seems, but trying to create a style without basing it off of something you can reference (ie., some real situation) is very difficult. This is why most professionals learn to draw from life first, and then develop styles from their experience with realistic drawings and studying art history. Ie., from the description of anime above, someone who can draw realism can easily anime-ize any of their drawings or any real-life pose. Many would say that your own style will find you over time, rather than trying to force a style that you don't find natural. :)
Looking at others art is great for tips on getting forms out of few lines, color compatibility, shading, etc., but never try to copy a style exactly, even from a tutorial. Some individual expression should always be present.
Also, the only way to get faster at drawing is to draw a lot and notice how you draw certain things for later reference. It's like riding a bike. Stop drawing for awhile and you may draw slower again. Right now, I'm pretty slow myself. :D I'm still learning, though.
