Aye aye sir! Taking things seriously, especially when it has nothing to do with you, shows someone who misses the point. Furaffinity isn't good for anything but fapping so stop worrying about what the staff are up to!
I'm a non porn artist myself as well. No offence to those who are but I hope to have a more professional art career and I'd like if an entire gallery full of porn didn't compromise that.
I don't trust that with good confidence....I'm speaking more along the lines of a serious art career. Non fandom oriented. I understand people can make a living in the fandom and still draw porn but I'm not entirely sure how it could go in the "real" world.
It is like anything. You have to take the good with the bad.
Just because the staff may seem like prudes to some doesn't mean you have to talk to them. You are only here to use their services that is all.
Everyone gets their panties in a bundle when things happen and honestly it is silly. Especially this controversy. If you knew half the things that happen in real life, it would be world war III
This is what happens on the net when personal opinion and hearsay are taken as fact. People become idiots and do things that are brash. Ill never understand people. Gave up a Loooong time ago.
People are just overreacting. There was no evidence showing he did what he did and it was debunked so I really don't understand why people are doing this.
Thats just the thing thats killing me. People who have NEVER MET Zaush are flinging accusations like they know him. While the few who actually know him are honestly defending him. Ive never met him in person, so I cant say. Id tend to listen to those who know him best. his friends. But I certainly wont abandon ship because people are suddenly butthurt :P
*chuckles* Yeah, but you dont move out of the country because you may think a certain celebrity is a twat. That would just be silly. And oddly enough, it seems to be whats going on here.
Well, if you ever liked a Headstones song, you owe it to yourself to see Hard Core Logo. If you already have, I'm claiming you as a friend for life! No trade backs. ;>
While rumors and hearsay can do the world harm, personal opinions DO matter. Just as long as they don't, or rather SHOULDN'T, do any harm.
And yes, people can be confusing and aggravating, but still believe in them. I believe in a LOT, actually, even what some may define impossible. Doesn't make me stupid. So trust me when I say people can surprise you
My attitude is its a free site, and it works fine for my needs.. I post art and check comments, I guess those notes getting leaked was irritating but Im just careful about not saying anything damaging in fa notes now.
well drama put to the side, there are people who were legitimately involved in the thing and i know that it's best it ignore it, but complete ignorance isn't the answer~ though neither is the way most people are handling it
i don't know the guy, doesn't matter how he's on the surface, but it's not just the drama but the bad administration that's pushing everyone away really
i mean, tickets are never answered from what i hear and from what i heard from a real-life ex-administrator
Of all the computer things I do through the day, FA aggravates me the least, it doesn't crash like flash, doesn't lag like minecraft and doesn't ask me irritating questions like Windows, also its free so overall Im happy with it.
i never really cared about how it runs, because it's usually fast, efficient and efficient looking x03
it lacks features that a lot of users want to and definitely administrative support and that's always been an issue
so that's 50-70% of why people are actually leaving, this zaush thing is just the icing on the cake~
well they look at it and do the things that literally take nothing
but there are a lot of users who have tickets that are pretty much having they anniversary
Shit like this is why I barely scan my new journal list anymore and more often than not just hit the "nuke" button and go about my day. I got more important shit than stuff like that. This was an issue 3-4 years ago that reared its head, got dealt with, and went away. And it pops up now again.
Fuck. I really start to understand why others poke at the furry fandom. its its own worst enemy. And the sad part, its true.
I'm glad I'm so very, very rarely involved in all this drama. Most involvement I've had with any of it is in posts like this one. Miles away from it and glad. It's a damn porn website yet people whine so much. It makes me question how old some of these people are.
Humm good point. Like a troll stirring up a bunch of religious private high schoolers on a forum. Nnnnnngh! *splort*
I love the fandom for all the interesting and crazy people in it, and porn, and do my best to avoid the people that take things waaaaaaaay too seriously, and the not porn. *chuckles*
Oh I know... I am full of the awesome, and doughnuts.... And bacon... Loooots of bacon... In fact, I don't think you can comprehend the amounts of bacon I am full of. So tasty... The bacon, not me... Well I am a feast for the eyes though.
I cannot even make a clever journal on the matter of people deciding to kick off FurAffinity's Annual Screeching Mass-Exodus so early, because it'll just invite debate and confusion and side-taking.
In the end I'm just left wondering how many people stop to realize 'Hey..you know, this doesn't really impede my ability of using the site to access what I want to see at all!'
Ahhwell. This shiny car will blow by and the bored dogs will, one by one, stop barking and go back to gnawing on each other's hackles.
100% stupid how people are leaving FA. Give them a few weeks... they'll be back, because most people arent making the switch to weasly (dont know how to speEl it and dont Kare).
I get what you mean. If there's some kind of issue (and I have no idea who or what is involved), a petition to have whoever it is removed should guilt be proven would do a lot more than people leaving.
That said - Weasyl is gorgeous to look at but it is DEAD-WATER. You don't really get people chatting and talking like you do on FA. You can make all of these little personalized touches to your page and there's so much good in it but the community is very closed mouthed. So even with popular artists you find comments that...just aren't up to par. FA may be full of drama but that drama comes from a lively lively community and Weasyl's community hasn't decided what it wants to be yet.
It's been here for about a year, and the copyright date starts on 2012? And you have a point. I just say what I say because sites like PaperDemon have been around longer and they just...never build much a culture. But...it may take mass migrations like what happens here every so often to make sites like THAT work.
Despite tons of artists I follow leaving and burning their bridges behind them (sample comment: "if you question why I'm leaving, you can suck the farts out of my asshole"), I'm not going anywhere.
I take interest in what the administration of the site I rely on to lay out all my art for a community I love is doing, it's like politics, really, if you don't want someone stupid running your site, you either leave, or voice your opinion to try and have them removed. I see nothing good happening with the coming 'changes', nevermind the fact that they're putting people on staff at face and celebrity value. That's where I have a problem, sure, you can be here for the porn, and you can care less about the things going on higher up, but when it comes down to a lot of us on the ground, we don't want that wobbly tower they're building over there to fall on us, so we take the choice to leave. I wouldn't call that whining, I'd call that concern.
I can agree with you that shouting at the brick wall that is FA's administration is kind of pointless, but when experience comes into question, I'd personally like to see proof of that. Sure there's UI Design... but that's not all a website is comprised of.
The most I have personally decided to do is make a back up gallery, and if I don't enjoy the way FA is going, I'm gonna set up base camp elsewhere, so to speak.
I think the thing that bothers me the most is that most folks assume people come to FA just to masturbate. Which may be true in most cases, but you do have other, more serious people who want to show off what they can do, and for that, they want a website they can put a lot of trust into. FA's been a pretty sketchy place for a while when it comes to any kind of trust. From drama, to theft, to a whole list of other things. I hope my long-winded explanation doesn't sound too vain, I just like to give an opinion from the other viewpoint/side.
Well FA has worked pretty hiccup free for me since about 2005, "aside from a few notes being leaked that one time" so I'm not exactly sure what everyone's so concerned about, especially considering its a free service.
Cheers to that! I'm gonna be honest, I just don't want to bother with making more accounts/different accounts because of some drama involving situations and people I really know nothing about personally!
Watching this from the other end of the bridge is unsettling. I'm on all the art sites and wish users would try them out just for the opportunity to try new things.
I use this browser plugin called tab cloud. It lets you save a group of tabs and run that session whenever you want. So I save a group of tabs of the submission page to every art site. Whenever I want to post something, I just open that group of saved tabs and copy/paste everything.
I had never heard about that site until now. Looks like there's less than 40 artists there.
Well it's not really that. It's the fact that they hid information and stuff, never really answered anyone's questions or concerns, and only after a week finally started reassuring everyone who has what access to what.
Understandably, it is a free website. Even so it wasn't that hard to tell, at least the people with legitimate concerns, what was going on and who had access to what and so on and so forth.
As far as Zaush (that's his name right? XD) is concerned, it really did baffle me a bit why of all the things they mishandled, that's the one that put the bone in their teeth.
I'm a non porn artist myself as well. No offence to those who are but I hope to have a more professional art career and I'd like if an entire gallery full of porn didn't compromise that.

i hate people
If it was a big deal then the police should have gotten involved instead of the accuser coming to FA for a big circlejerk
As a victim myself when I was a teen I know how this shit goes.
And yes, people can be confusing and aggravating, but still believe in them. I believe in a LOT, actually, even what some may define impossible. Doesn't make me stupid. So trust me when I say people can surprise you
Point is no one really knows what happened except those directly involved, That's kind of the point of "innocent until proven guilty"
i don't know the guy, doesn't matter how he's on the surface, but it's not just the drama but the bad administration that's pushing everyone away really

Let the wanking continue.
It is hard to bust off some knuckle babies with all the unimportant whining going on. ^_^
I love the fandom for all the interesting and crazy people in it, and porn, and do my best to avoid the people that take things waaaaaaaay too seriously, and the not porn. *chuckles*
You, are magic.
Well...bacon kind of goes with everything so...does that mean by association you go well with everything?
In the end I'm just left wondering how many people stop to realize 'Hey..you know, this doesn't really impede my ability of using the site to access what I want to see at all!'
Ahhwell. This shiny car will blow by and the bored dogs will, one by one, stop barking and go back to gnawing on each other's hackles.
*fap fap fap fap fap*
The thing is, most people come bakc here after they realize that this is still the best option, as bad as it is..
This sight still needs and overhaul.. a better interface for starts. But I can browse this site on my 2DS, where I can't browse InkBunny or SoFUrry.
=^.,.^=
