You know what's ANNOYING about art
That you can improve, a notable bit DURING a comic. So now the start of the comic (or comic's before hand) look APPALLING compared to what you produce now. and that knowledge that what your supposedly proud of right now, well soon get dash aside as shit when you further improve.
Never being truly happy with your art. UGH.
Does not help when you have a best friend who's (in your eyes) CLEARLY better than you in some aspects of art. So you have this constant reminder of what you've not achieved yet.
But I know why he's better, he's been DOING anatomy, human anatomy, properly since he was like 12 or something.
While I come from drawing fucking pokemon/sonic since I was 12. Never even TOUCHED upon trying to do proper anatomy until my second year of uni.
So it's been like, 4 years of trying to do anatomy?
So. Pro tips kids DON'T LET MAJORITY OF YOUR ART ME POKEMON AND SONIC! You will NOT do well when it comes to doing anatomy!
Noodle arms, no shoulders, thighs? WHAT ARE THEY!?...Goddamn!
I mean I like my art, I do some things that are great. Expression in the FACE. I am good with FACES just hahaahaa..ah.. bodies? Not as good.
My god I need to do some studies or something!
I know all artists get this feeling, it's just been plaguing me for about a week, so, TIME TO RANT!

So yeah, I know the feeling all too well. I am constantly seeing others drawing and it's like. Gah, I need to draw like that. :I Like faces I'm not super good with dynamic expressions, so like, super jelly of you when it comes to that area. XD
The great thing about looking at it that way, is that there are many times in my life when I've gotten to know old friends again, and on the occasions when I have, the changes we've both been through have brought new insights into our relationship. Things that used to drive us apart suddenly bring us together, old arguments seem silly due to the wisdom we've gained, the friendships seem much richer. This doesn't happen all the time, like art, you some times end up with a bad picture despite how much you've learned, but for the most part, the new pictures end up looking all the better for it.
So, be friends with your old art. Look at the stuff you've done, and remember how much happiness it brought you. If it's an especially cherished friend, there's nothing stopping you from renewing that friendship, y'know? Redraw it, touch it up, redefine it. As far as your friend goes, they should be an inspiration. You're an exceptionally talented artist, one who is willing to push herself despite certain misgivings. That means way more than anatomy or skill level. You'll get there!
It's just an annoying trait in a comic series heh, like even in bro back mountain i'm still editing an altering castors body type and hair, virgos to! Pretty sure virgo was slimmer in age 1 compared to page 39!
I do somewhat showing the old OLD art, like in my eehh stargazer species info image. showing where they came from. It's always nice to see where a character came form, as majority of mine are over 8 years old.
Always refurbishing characters~ i'd revamp my old stories, make them better and more believable, but alas, no time these days! but yeah, one day! Will get there~
