who are the furs in the FA banner?

This is more than likely a stupid question, but who are the fox and dragon that are in every FA banner in relation to the site? Like... are they the face of the site? The top funders? The top tier admins that do the woriest work? Are they the people that came up with the idea for FA? Who are they?

Plus, if they were just "prominent" furs, it'd seem kinda odd that people like Zen or Blotch and so many others haven't been on the banner (That I know of)

Like every month, come out with a new banner with the two mascots...Then three others!
1: Whomever donated most that month gets featured
2: Feature a prominent/famous or upcomming artist
3: Randomly select one from all qualified users (must submit and be accepted)
I think it could up some community fellowship and compitition as well as site loyalty.
Even if not every month/banner, just once in a while...Or at least have people compete for their own banner to be featured. There just isn't that much "community" involvement. I used to be on Deviant Art a while back...They were ALWAYS encouraging members to vote, submit, compete and do this, that and the other. They featured members, groups, had polls and everything.
That's one reason FA is so splintered. There's nothing other than "look at my art/porn" keeping us together. Everyone hates someone. Everyone's jealous of someone else. Somebody's always pissed off. The site has a "too big to fail" mentality...Not to mention, the site's general functionality (no art folders, poor note system, few search filters, lack of actual "Group" mechanics, etc) is waaaaaay behind other sites.
I still love FA...It just has it's flaws...Many, many flaws...
