Power Rangers Super Megaforce Premiere Date & Promo Revealed

The premiere date of Power Rangers Super Megaforce is finally confirmed!
The 21st season of the long running Power Rangers franchise premieres Saturday, February 15th on Nickelodeon.
Jason David Frank has been keeping updates about this on facebook. I prefer the old power rangers, but he's coming back as Tommy Oliver possibly as either the green or the white ranger. I saw a pre-production photo of him grabbing his white ranger sword out of a car through a busted windshield.
he said that they'd make a cameo. wow, they reduced the most legendary power ranger to ca cameo?. :p ah well. JDF is really a good man. I follow his posts on my real FB account. he wonce took a photo with George Takei. I thought the internet was gonna explode of awesomeness, there.
Well despite a cameo, (if several episodes counts as a cameo) leading a HUGE Power Rangers war of epic awesome sounds like something worthy that only Tommy can do hehe
I don't know how to feel, I'm elated the Power Rangers have exceeded the 20 year mark, but after watching and completely loving Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, it makes me feel like I will hold a complete bias and hate it by default. There is a part of me that wants to believe this is a big PR prank by Saban to create all kinds of hesitation and frustration from the people who also enjoy watching Sentai, (around the cameo fiasco, showing how cheap Saban is being, feeling like it will cheapen the series overall, and rolling the cast over, creating tons of inconsistencies in the sentai footage, Joe being a master swordsman vs Noah being completely uncoordinated, Don being not so coordinated but Jake being known for his athletic prowess). I was so amazed when I watched Samurai alongside Shinkenger, because they were so incredibly similar, the team was almost completely identical, Takeru vs Jayden, Ryunosuke vs Kevin, Chiaki vs Mike, and so on, it was great, but the Gokaigers are pirates... not a super mega mode... I have high hopes for the season, but I can't ignore the lump in my stomach telling me its going to be an epic disappointment...
I was actually annoyed at how similar Samurai was to Shinkenger, especially early on. I personally feel that Power Rangers should try to differentiate itself from Sentai, otherwise there's no point in watching.
I understand what you mean but i don't know how much of a possibility that is, because Power Rangers exists because of Sentai, it is an American reproduction, the only part of Power Rangers that can really stand on its own is the scenes out of the costumes, unless they are going to pay stunt men, martial artists, the Toei Company (for independent use of the intellectual property, as opposed to using the Sentai footage) and spend hundreds of man hours, shooting all new costumed/zord footage, they don't have a very large margin to deviate from the original Sentai concept... and from what I took away from the whole previous ranger cameo fiasco, it doesn't seem as though Saban is financially invested enough in the series to make that happen.
I'm pretty stoked, though to be honest reading the summaries for the first 15 episode a lot of them see to be lifte driectly from Gokaiger with little change
Also, JDF will be coming back as both the Green, and the White Ranger!
