how do you get good at drawing? AND I'M NOT TAKING ANY OF THAT 'PRACTICE' JUNK
I dunno I'm just frustrated, I avoid doing drawings (for others) a lot because I'm so afraid it's going to be hard, and it's not going to turn out good anyway.
Then when I do sit down and do it takes an absurd amount of time to get like one stupid thing right. Whenever this happens I think, man, I could never do art for a living, because I'd spend all day drawing one line over and over and then I'd starve because I'd run out of money and food. And what a waste of time! Why can't I get so I can draw something right, but fast? Can I do that?
I've been drawing for what, 11, 12 years?...I just think, "shouldn't I be awesome by now?"

Don't fall in love with your work. Honestly, 90% of what you'll draw will be complete shit. It's true with all artist. Don't expect everything you draw to be perfect. You'll save yourself a lot of frustration and heartache.
A fun thing to do is like, gets some watercolor paper, some ink, a simple watercolor pallet, and brush.
1. Cut the water color paper into tiny pieces roughly two inches big and make them varied in shape. I'd say about 20 peices.
3/ Set yourself a time limit. 30 minuets is a good one.
2. Do small ink drawings on each piece of paper. As many ideas as you have in your head. Don't think too long, you want to finish them all by the halfway mark.
3.Go back and color them all with watercolor. Don't be detailed, just enough to get the idea.
And voila, you have 20 ideas to make into a finished piece. You'll be surprised just by who many you'll end up with if you do it 2 times a week. It's also fun to give yourself themes sometimes. Plus, it's a really good exercise in doing work without the worry of making it look "finished."
Step 3: forget step one
Step 2: get ready
Step 3: buy shades
i'm you biggest fan
WHY HAVEN'T I WON THE LOTTERY YET
but seriously I do think that eventually I will be able to draw much better with practice.
you're good!
Just draw all the time and you'll improve in no time ^^
Well, I kind of have the same problem
but i think thats bad, cause then i might not want to draw those things later on or i might not understand my description in the future cause i'll have forgotten
i dont think there's any set plan to be awesome... hmmm i guess just balance practice and fun? join art clubs for motivation? don't eat eggs cause they make farts smell bad etc.. etc
i think im gonna have to agree with other people here and say that you do draw pretty pro, so good job so far!
I knoww but I need to do some stuff here at home. :/
including WORK ON SOME DRAWINGSS, and presents for my family and help my boyfriend with stuff
Hah hah, I kid...
...seriously, where's my goddamn birthday gift?
Cause I know the moment I kissed that guy all my art quality totally went downhill.
You should take a sip of whiskey before you draw
I wish I could draw as good as you...
...tastes terrible!

And some imitation on the side.
These are good advices.
DO A BUNCH OF SHIT THAT YOU HAVE NEVER DONE BEFORE AND THEN DO THAT SHIT A BILLION TIMES.
AND THEN FIND SHIT LIKE THAT SHIT EXCEPT BETTER AND REDO YOUR SHIT A BILLION TIMES MORE.
And imitation isn't all that bad. That's how artists learned for a millennium, this whole "you must develop your own style on your own and don't even look at someone else's work or you'll never be a super-special unique individual snowflake and thus you will be no use to society" thing is something art teachers came up with a few decades ago.
But for this particular issue, I'd suggest drawing what you see around you -- not the art that you see, but the places, the people, the plants, the animals, the impromptu designs that crop up in life (like the sidewalk spills that have cropped up in your gallery).
Nobody else can see with your eyes. In the words of Mervyn Peake, "Learn to stare" -- then draw what you see.
The results will be yours.

muffins are delicious :O
It transforms your mind to a porridge of satisfaction and happiness, and you know what happens when you are satisifed and happy? You feel like you can challenge the world in EVERYTHING. All from moving Manhattan four degrees to the west to hijack a car and beat Dorothy Gale in the race to the other side of the rainbow. But there won't be any wicked witches or midgets over the rainbow, but a world created from your own mind. Dorothy may be shocked and chaed by a angry mob, but you will feel right at home. I think. Yes, you will. And it all starts with ice cream.
When it comes to your talent, it's like your personality; you can't change your personality, but you can evolve it with experiences. Use what you have, and evolve it. Evolving goes slowly. Mutation goes faster, but the bad thing about mutation is that the finished result may be something completely different from what you had in mind.
See, you're Voln. And you will always be. And that's what we like about you. Evolve, not mutate.

If you can decipher that one my Hapkido instructor gave me, you'll be set.
The only thing I could suggest would be to draw something fast, just to see how it compares to something that would've taken longer. Maybe show it to others, to see what they think about it!
Never happy with what I do, finding flaw after flaw the moment I'm done, put way too much time and effort into something only to inevitably hate it come the next day, wishing I had a better grasp of all those photoshop skills that everyone else has (because all I have is traditional art skills, and those aren't cool anymore), and wondering why I keep practicing and getting nowhere.
It is a long, lonely, and shitty road we walk.
It's a shame we've forgotten our boots.
I'd normally offer advice at this point, but I've really got no idea how to help.
Boy, I'm so helpful. 6__9
i'm not a great artist but i say you should draw with people on oC because it makes you try new stuff so yush ! i think experimenting is a great way to get better :D
