You may be all aware of all the drama llama movement going on FA.
I've seen plenty of journals claiming there are moving to Weasley - lol seriously, can't stop thinking bout Ron - because apparently FA admins support rapists.
Now lets be objective for a while shall we?
OMG, the admins deleted my journal and banned me from FA for posting a journal about that rapist!
Well, what did you expect? Are you even aware about the gravity of your accusation? That's a really harmful and deep accusation. And most probably you posted that journal driven by the flow of the drama llama tide.
I would probably ask the admins to ban somebody if they started to call me rapist as well.
But what about my freedom of speech? I have the right to say what I think!
Now lets talk about the most basic rule about freedom of speech. You have the right to speak anything you want, but freedom of speech does not allow you to cross the red line of personal offense. Calling somebody rapist is crossing that line. Duh.
Do you know what's the penalty for such an accusation in massive public places like TV or internet in my country? Hint, the lowest one starts with 25.000$.
So please, lets not mistake freedom of speech with saying whatever you want no matter who are you offending.
But he's a rapist!
I hope you have a solid proof of that, and not only the "everybody is saying that on FA".
I want to remember that, somewhere, there's one person who is being accused by thousand of people. If that turns out not to be true, you all would have made that person live in hell. And just because you followed the drama tide.
But what about if he IS a rapist?
then I hope the victim brings the case to the police and justice reaches him. Frankly, if I got raped, I'd make sure that person rots in jail.
So, please people, stay away from drama. This is an issue that involves two persons. Somehow half furaffinity felt like getting actively involved. I see no need nor use for that.
if he is, or he is not, its not up to me to judge. But I'm sure that, if there is guilt, punishment will come, no matter what I personally do about it.
if there's no guilt, I'll have the relief I didn't participate in the drama witch hunt.

as a rape victim myself, i'd personally want to fucking backhand dumbfucks doing this harassment shit, OH HELLO ILLEGAL CRIME "GANGSTALKING", to someone. even if he is or was fuilty of such things, that is fora court to decide, NOT public. til there is proof, as you say, people shuold mind their own fucking bullshit.

Now, I don't accept hear-say as a guilty verdict. But reading PMs from the "great FA hack of how many years ago?" and people who correctly guessed the accused before his name was mentioned (because they said "this guy did something similar to me" and it turns out it was the same guy), as well as the volume of people claiming to be directly effected rather than supporting those effected...
It is not hard evidence, it is not something to use statistics to convict, there was no trial or formal accusation. But I am not against those leaving.
Yes. And I've served on a jury for a "death threat" / mental assault with aims at manslaughter/murder case.
The US also has that notion of "no conviction without proof of crime, and proof beyond reasonable doubt of guilt". No criminal accusation was put forward, no trial, no conviction.
That doesn't mean nothing wrong happened. It does not mean I can assume something wrong happened, either. So let's boil it down to character, without taking sides on the "criminal" side of things:
I joined FA years ago. It looks the exact same now, except thumbnails stopped working and cub art is banned (I agree with cub art being banned). Reading past people's experience with getting the site coded, as well as old forum posts and discussions, I can see why people are venturing to "better" sites. As a writer, FA sucks. It can't even cope with ASCI/Unicode in TXT files!
A lot of blame on the coding side of things was leveled against either Dragoneer for caving (or giving preferential treatment to one person), or that person for strong-arming his way and rejecting other's ideas and work.
a massive accusation in a large public domain, of such a grave act, based ONLY in rumors, is something low and despicable.
that's my only point in here.
If I say "I think you raped someone, Wereboar", it is not slander (unless you can prove I did not believe that, or was only saying it to discredit you).
I have not mentioned free speech. And FA is not under German law, or subject to the 4th amendment (Free Speech) since it is not US government controlled.
The design stagnation which many believe is due to this person is the "straw that broke the camel's back" for some, and the fact the colours and composition chosen for the mock-up match Weasyl's default theme doesn't help FA's appeal.
