Alrighty,
This update needed to happen a while ago but let me just fill you in on what has happened.
Not sure if most of you know. My grandmother’s house burned down at the end of summer, she had been living with us (along with my uncle) for 7 months. They just moved out into their newly fixed home the other day. So I can finally have my studio space again instead of doing everything on my bed! But I'm just happy she is safe in her new home :)
In early December I was laid off from my job. The way my boss actually went about letting me go was frustrating and lets just say there was guilt money involved. I am still on good terms with my former colleagues but I am out of work. I’ve been applying to jobs left and right, with a few interviews here and there but the search is still fairly new and I need something close.
I was supposed to go to an interview today, but they had to reschedule due to a snow storm. What really pisses me off is that I get all the way up there and knock on the door 3 times (because I can hear people inside they are just not answering), this was at 10:40am. Mind you my interview was at 11am. So I call, and they said they sent me an email this morning saying they needed to reschedule. With such late notice I would at least expect a phone call or something! I told them in the email confirming our meeting that “ I will be there pending you are still open due to weather conditions. “I even check my email this morning and there was nothing.
So when I get home, I check my email one more time and see they sent a notice at 10:43 between the time I was knocking on the door and when I called. It was extremely unprofessional...... I guess what made me more pissed off was the fact I got myself all worked up and nervous for nothing. Well the game has changed. Next time I go in there I’m going to ask about their company and really see if they are a good fit for me. No more BS.
I just need a job asap… ( story of everyones life right? lol)
Anyway, my boyfriend’s parents are selling their house and moving ton Indiana. Since he is not going with them he will be moving in with us. The house is up for sale and I really have no idea what is going to happen at this point but I just hope it all works out. His room would be right next to mine. I enjoy my alone time, It will be a big adjustment...
I also signed up for a designer mentor mentee program and was paired with a really great Caricature artist/ Art Director for a mentor. We have yet to meet again due to the storm :/ Soon!
Which brings me to right now. I am working on gift art and other FA related work today. With breaks of Skyward Sword and wine in between. That game is F-ing amazing. I can’t even! I seriously need to play Twilight Princess too. Good Lord.
But I digress.
FA artwork is my priority for today and hopefully Sunday!
